Watching the last trailer of the extension, it seems happen what i expected, Hydaelyn become the foe to fight.

Lessons to keep it mind, remember that whatever the god say to you, you are a just a tool toy for him her it.

i m not really sur that i want to discover this story, and i m very bored of the generic face guy hero we see in the trailer, he sounds so common, and so bad guy when we know the deal with the warrior of darkness, i think it would be better if the heros just not exist or get different aspect at each trailer.

Honestly I get the feeling the end game is to either find balance between Zodiark and Hydaelyn or to do away with them both entirely. Based on Unukalhai's story and the parallels it has with the Warriors of Darkness, it's pretty fair to say that no one really benefits from worlds being plunged into either light or dark. Nor does it seem Hydaelyn necessarily /wants/ to eradicate life via a flood of light, if her attempts to fix what happened to the latter's world is any indication. I do wonder if the floods are part of the consequence of her being shattered and if she doesn't have much control over it, given how weak she seems to be by the time we come stomping around.

Also remember that in 3.4 She sent Minfilia to prevent the flood of Light on the First - though apparently something's gone wrong with that plan, or perhaps she's only just been holding it at bay all this time, and needs our help to actually stop it.

If you read the info about the Thanalan of the first that crystal wall is where the flood was recently halted so I'm guessing that's Minfilia's doing? Still not sure how we'll be clean up crew/fixer though.

I'm leaning most strongly towards the ShB MSQ final boss being either Solus or Elidibus, though it also wouldn't surprise me if there was some malign force behind the Sin Eaters we have to deal with instead.

I imagine 5.0 final boss will be one of the two, similar to Zenos with SB and overall final boss of the MSQ for the expansion, similar to the Warriors of Darkness in HW and Elidibus Zenos in SB, will be other one.

I doubt the final boss will be an Ascian, as I'm sure our character will finally put two and two together and realise that we need Ascians to be alive if we want to avoid dealing with a Flood (and the Scions will likely be informed of this as well). Elidibus is only hostile toward us as we're doing what the Warriors of Darkness did on their world (defeating the Ascian called Mitron caused the Flood of Light). Unsure what could happen with Solus. I doubt he'll be on the front lines any time soon if the Black Rose is back in production.

I don't trust Hydaelyn and I feel as though it'd be disappointing if, after all this time, she's portrayed as selfless and righteous. So many interesting deities have been presented in the form of Primals - yet ultimately they're but twisted desired given sentience. I hope that Hydaelyn and Zodiark are treated as the higher beings that they are and that their morality is simply incompatible with mortals to the point where tensions with both are strained. Perhaps both are necessary for the status quo to continue but it'd be neat to see more characters doubt and refuse to worship either of them in favour of truly putting the reigns of history back into the hands of man.

A Sin Eater (fanboy in me hopes for Anima) is the most likely final boss.

Anima as a Sin Eater would be awesome, seeing a sort of 'corrupted Angel' version of her, with a light upper half and a twisted demonic lower half.
