CURRENT EVENT: FFXV Cross-Over Event

I never get on here to post my own thread. I normally just come here to view what others have to say and discuss things with my friends about the matters we are all passionate about or currently discussing(when we want more info.). So with that said, please understand that it took a lot to bring me here.

The current event is such a disappointment. You introduced a 4 seater mount for the first time, and you require that people have MGP to purchase it? What the pure nebber?! Then, if that's not a smack to the face enough, you had people believe that all they had to do was make sure they were past a certain point in ARR storyline and be at least lvl 50. For new players, they will spend a good part of this month doing just that.. (Unless they pay for your books that will help them level and progress in storyline).. but for those who have no funds for that, will spend a good part of the month just trying to complete these tasks if a person is new.

My friend was discouraged because he was new to ffxiv and I said, no worries *Bought him ARR/HW storybooks and Lvl 60 Book for a job of his choosing*, and what happens? He logs in and does the quests then find out he can't get the car because he hasn't done Gold Saucer stuff. The items he desires are 230k MGP in total.

People are saying things like, "Oh, just do the fashion report for that month and do challenge logs and you'll get it." Like.. wtf SE.. why is this a thing anyway?! Most people don't do Gold Saucer because, like myself, we don't much care for the MGP grind. Or we are also trying to fulfill the OTHER requirements of the game with raid groups and etc, that we don't have time for something as trivial as MGP grinds.

You could have at least given those w/o MGP, a way of turning in those parts for MGP. That way they could do the fate over and over and trade parts in. This reminds me sooo much of Yokai, its literally making me despise this game! For the first 4-seater, you could have done this better... Bad move SE.. bad bad bad MOVE!

This is not a shot at those who had like a mil or sum obscene amount of MGP saved.. I was able to get my car just fine because I had some MGP points saved, but my friends who are mostly new players, they are very disappointed by this event and their hopes were crushed! I make this post in frustration for them!

I agree with the OP WTH were you guys thinking? I spent a month looking forward for getting this for my characters, so I could have a multi mount, and then get slapped in the face with 200k MPG. So much for getting it on an alt, I now have to grind up the 200k MGP on my main. This is a major disappointment.

Make the scrolls from the goldsaucer, not the main attraction of the whole event.

This is just a ploy to get people into gold saucer more, because most people dont want to have to do the grind for MGP. The novelty wore off and people arent going there anymore.

If you kept your ear to the tracks, you'd have known about the price well in advance.
That being said, yes you can get it on your alts just as easy. 200k MGP is rather easy to grind up.

Come on now, you really think they would make valuable items such as the mount and hairstyle (card not so much) so easily available for little effort, nah it doesn't work like that. The fact is the amount of MGP is quite cheap to obtain and there are several weeks to work towards this, it's not like it needs to be done immediately.

As for OP's comparison to Yokai, they are greatly different considering that event was purely RNG related and required an investment of so much time that a number of players just couldn't commit to it. Least with the XV items you know where they are, what exactly you need, and how to work towards it. We could of had this event and no mount at all(or only single person) or it could of gone on the MogStation, so there is that to think about....

200,000 Mgp is not that hard to get you and you have ages to get it
Fashion report,Challenge log and new gates give a good amount even khloe this week you will get at least 30k


But if you don't want to do that then just wait a year and buy it all on mogstation

Tell that to all the people who block my view in Leap of Faith! Not to mention all the people with cars already lol. You have a month plus to get 200k mgp it's not hard.

To the OP: Help your friends with the fashion report. They can play each other in triple triad and LoV. Not grinding for hours but just for challenge log. Do mini cacpot all of that should take ~30mins a week. That little bit should be 200k mgp in just 2 weeks, and that's only a fraction of the challenge log. Hardly a grind.

First of all - Why do you assume that - just because you don't like it - "most people" don't do it?

In fact I barely know anyone who hasn't done Gold Saucer at this point. Not all spent ages in there but even those people who barely visit this place should have some MPG. And even if they don't - it was said many many times - it is pretty easy to get MPG.

Heck, the event started yesterday. You got several weeks to gather the MPG. You could ONLY do the Fashion Report which takes TWO MINUTES once a week and you will be able to get the mount (and several other cool things) long before the event stops.

Ofc, if you need that mount right now - yeah, than it is a pain in the butt.

They had several Options for the Mount. They could gated it behind a trial (like Rathalos) or just put it up in the mogstore (which honestly from a marketing PoV would be what I had done). They basically give it away for free. My heart just skipped a beat when I heard that you can get it for minimal effort.

And still there are people complaining. Never cease to be amazed with this community.

I actually expected the mount to be 1 million MGP and the card to be at least 400k MGP but was surprised that they were only both 210k total both feel super cheap considering it's a 4-seater mount and Noctis is a character series card as the Cloud card was 1M MGP.

As for the complaints saying it's unfair I'm not sure it is because 200k MGP is easy to get, do mini cactpot x3 everyday and you will get 10k MGP quite a few times then do a few GATEs, play a few triple triad games for the challenges and obtain a few cards to trade in for more MGP. That's all I have been doing and I easily got 500k MGP in the last month and I barely have been focused on getting MGP just visiting the Gold Saucer once per day for about 10-20mins.

And to be totally honest I actually expected the 4-seater mount to be only available for purchase at the optional item store for like £30 so being able to purchase it in-game for as little as 200k MGP was extremely fair coming from Square Enix as they could of easily milked everyone for it.
