    Trample / Physics to Some Plants, Flowers, and Grass

    I figure there are many options and some have more cost / better appearance than others, and I'm not suggesting anything super expensive but if possible could we have movement to plants in relationship to ourselves?

    Specifically this came about because of:


    But movement from plants as you walk by can be a really fun touch of reality.

    So for example, these two systems (or at least the first):
    (1) Large flat mounts like our car would flatten grass, much like you see in many shooter games when players crawl.


    (2) Our spells or bodies could move the plants by touching them, but will not cause them to collapse down.

    I've seen some games just flop the plant down flat like a crop circles might appear, which might be cost effective/possible (changing the angle of the plant when you have collision) but of course the bendy / wavy stuff would look cool. That shouldn't require a physics engine for (if things just preset flatten on proximity).

    It's not important but if possible, even if it's just a cost effective solution, it would be really nice for the experience. Of course there will need to be an option in the menu for something like "all players, self only, off" as it might cost performance for some systems (especially if it was all).

    So not important but adding both player character reactions and some large mount (flattening) interactions could go a long way to making things feel physical and look nice .

    Also consider it might make a really cool fight / cutscene, depending on how the effect looks (billowing plants in a fight could be neat). May include rain and wind if the system wasn't too hard to utilize/create.

    As much as I'd like to see this, it's going to require a physics engine to support it.
    And such an engine I think the priority would be on player gear clipping, which has been asked for since 1.0 design was dropped.

    What I'm saying is, I'd love to have it but I wouldn't expect it to happen ever.

    Technically the game already has physics in it. I'm curious if they could simply adapt it to the plants and whatnot.

    gw2 has this and it's real nice. Gives even its 7 year old zones a lot of polish and immersion.
