I started playing with some friends recently and we were thinking about world transfer to a less populated world in hopes of having a easier time getting a house any thoughts ?

Sounds logical. I expect houses to blow up on all NA servers once the timer is on and the transfers start. I'm sure some people especially on smaller servers might have got a house recently just to transfer for the free gil.

If your friends move with you, and your FC is with them or you don't have one, then this can actually be a really smooth option. Soon there will be free server transfering and the server hop feature will become available to use, so you can go to a larger server for some content.

Some issues to be concerned about:

• Your FC features (like buffs) wont be active on another server, you have to be on the home server.
• Your house must be on your home server.
• You cannot sell on a server that's not your home, but you can buy.
• There may be other restrictions, at least to one of the bullet points of the slide.

Also depending on your server and target server you can actually get some EXP bonus and rewards. If you want you can also try to pick up an apartment for a refund + gil bonus, I know you're leaving for a house but if you can pick up any size any location to get a gil bonus that can be nice too (so then you can buy the one you actually wanted on the small server).

Any recon on what one would be a good one to transfer to since it is just for a house and yes my FC was coming with but we are small enough so I don’t think it will be a issue thank you for responding btw

Not Balmung :3. I don't really alt so I can't help with the recon, but I know in the housing forum some people post available houses on their server (player/self driven but you can see here for maybe some recon). My recommendation would be to use your alts slots to check out other servers, you can check out preferred worlds for their bonus (but they will have small population). Keep in mind which data center a server is in and will be (when NA servers shift a bit), if you want to be able to RP you want to be with Crystal's data center.

I don't know. I'm on one of the least populated servers and ever since Shirogane hit and everyone finally realized that, hey, moving to a smaller server means you could maybe get a house... everyone does that and it's getting harder to get a house that way. There's usually a few houses here and there if you check like a hawk but typically not any mediums or larges; currently with the timer being on hold for so long, there's no houses at all. I feel like, especially now with the way you can play on any server you want with the upcoming changes, people will likely be more comfortable going on a lower pop server in order to get housing.

You could try it but don't be too surprised if you still find it difficult to land a nice house. :/
I wish they'd just give us instanced housing that wasn't terrible..........

Yea I would settle for a small plot and house only a small fc so don’t really need anything bigger

The housing auto-demolition will be re-enabled with this upcoming maintenance, so you could wait for a bit to see how many houses are released. It should ease things at least a bit. Free transfers last for two weeks so there is some time to consider.

In June, houses will be available again and there will be like 95%+ empty lots. It's only packed because they didn't have demolition for a year. When houses get too full, they add more wards. You'll be fine on whatever server you plan to be on. But, just know that the first 2 months after the demolition timer is over and 5.0 releases, it will be very hectic. There will be a lot of lots available, but maybe not the one you want. Server hopping for a house might not work as intended.
