Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I liked much of the FFXV event and I enjoyed having those chat options. The FATE was crowded and the mobs went down easily. The first instance was a bit more challenging, but it seemed a good preparation for the next instance.
That one did not go well.
After my 1st failure I found a youtube playthrough video, but I noticed no real differences between my actions and the ones in the video. Either this instance has much RNG involved or is affected by lag, or I'm missing what the other players did differently.
I recognized the AoE markers the first time. And after seeing the video managed to escape the gravity effect. No further progress.
Either I got defeated or Noctis. I have stopped retrying. I was nearly always late with that special action, and only later I understood that from a greater distance the action has more effect.
Finishing the event and getting the gear rewards would have been nice. But at least now I don't have to bother making 200K in gold saucer coin.
I will now crawl back to the parts of this game that I still find rewarding.

Tanking 101.
Face the boss away from the party.
Any of the shrieks done noctis avoids.
He won't avoid the cone placed in front, or the ball aoes dropped on you.
You need to make sure those aren't landing on him.
You also need to be sure to stack with him when the line stack attack happens, as it's rather spicy.
Am I the only person who is sad we don't get a set of that rad Magitech Trooper armor? By far the coolest thing in the entire event.
I truly, truly loved this event and I never played FFXV, but it was easy for me to see which elements they implemented into FFXIV: The car, the MTs, names, 'photo-what's', its version of Garuda, the music, brief rundown of Noct's mission/goals and what I'm guessing is a 'tip of the iceberg' peek into what he can do. It brought a much needed, albeit brief amount of joy and a smile to my face.
It seems like forever since I've done an event/collaboration FATE, and didn't mind the brief wait time. I did it as NIN, which I haven't played in a while and it was good to know I was easily able to go back to my lv50 rotation without missing a beat.
The first instance I did as NIN as well, and noticed Noct warping around or something so showed off some Shikuchi when it came time to stand in columns ;p But what really caught my attention was the music, and I immediately hoped that orchestrions would be rewards for this event.
The cutscenes were really enjoyable. I decided to fish right next to him, and actually closed out that fishing hole xD. When he asked what took so long, my character's reaction was the same as mine *shrug*. "That was nothing buddy. Just ask me fellow Scions how long they've had to wait around for me."
Second instance was seriously fun. I looked around the arena, and noticed a stone thingy next to Garuda. I figured it was there to shield from an ultimate, but found it weird that it was targetable. After I read what Noct was saying, got hit by the AoE, and noticed the other pillar I was able to put 1,2,3 together. What I really wasn't expecting was the Active Time Event, and was really cool seeing both myself and Noct being the badasses we are. Well done SE!
I did the second instance as SCH and found it quite the cowinkydink that Noct was returning to Eos. It's so strange how the decisions I make in this game tend to line up like that. A happy ending for everyone, and some choice glamours and rewards to go along with it. These collab events are always so well done, and I hope there is one to FFIX someday.
I wish we had the chance to customize the Regalia though.
Definitely one of my fave events to date. Though I agree that FFXV had flaws but this event has perhaps put a good closure to the FFXV game.
Great memories came floating in.
I'm actually quite annoyed about the car being bought with 200,000 MGP.
I hate most of the Gold Saucer, and don't want to spend a good deal of time each week grinding the challenge log. The only things I can stomach are the mini cactpot and Triple Triad (and the latter I'm still not sure I actually do tolerate).
I did the necessary grinding up for the Adamantoise mount. Never again. Price should be much lower.
I really don't get why people have trouble with buying the car. It's not RNG or Mog Station. You can get 69000 MGP from fashion report (with squadron bonus) and 18500 MGP by winning 10 easy TT matches in the battlehall. Then do mini cactpot, jumbo cactpot and maybe a GATE and you easily have 100k MGP every week in less than 30 minutes.

Should be happy it's not a Yokai type grind for it and I totally agree fashion report and items you listed make it pretty easy to earn MGP. I already have 100k MGP for an alt I created a little over a week ago and she is close to level 47 atm. Fashion report looks pretty easy this week too with a NPC vendor Florite Earrings for about 2500 gil and the Brand New Gloves from the new adventurer training. One only needs two items to get the bonus. I should have about 170 this weekend and have more than enough time before the event ends to finish leveling and earn the remaining mgp.I really don't get why people have trouble with buying the car. If you started in Ul'dah, you can also use the quest-reward "Voice of the Just" earrings and Ul'dahn ring to easily get 80+ points.
