    What would you think?

With the recent surge of car crashes in Eorzea, what do you think would be a good price for insurances?

Cid thought he was working on technology to make the world a better place, but never could he have foreseen the monster he helped create: insurance companies.

As someone that used to deal in car insurance, the fact the car can FLY AND GO UNDERWATER makes my teeth itch, so let's just leave that out of the equation for now. So, it's definitely luxury. It's made with complex mechanics with a unusual power source (so let's use a new Tesla as a base there). While it says it must have been difficult to reverse engineer, apparently they've figured out a way to mass produce them since they're everywhere. They're often used in high risk situations (since only adventurers have them right now). It's a convertible. 4 seater. Any driver that drives it only has a few days worth of driving experience, at best. So, starting with THAT, and as stated before, using a new Tesla as a base, you're probably looking at least $2000 a month figuring all that in. After looking at the internet, it seems gil/dollar conversion is favored at about 10:1, so it'd actually only be 20,000 gil a month. Now, figuring in it also FLIES AND GOES UNDERWATER. Ugh. Well, no car insurance company in existence is going to even go 100 yards of that "car" now. So you'd probably want to go through a broker, and would probably have to get some custom insurance. Let's see, small jet insurance is about $30000 a month (at this point, adventurers actually have ton of flying experience), a 4 person private submersible...well those go for about 5 mil, covering that with general liability, well...hmm. We'll call it about $20000 (again, this figuring that adventurers has a decent amount of piloting experience underwater) . So add that to the 2000 for the car, then add the fact it could do all three at once...well, let's just triple it. So about $210000, or about 2,100,000 gil a month would be about fair for someone with a clean driving record.

Broker's going have their work cut out for them, would have to get some ultra high end general liability. I, for one, if I saw that car in real life, would say "Heh, no." and walk the other way as fast as possible.

Outstanding. Also, would driver height factor into this equation given that some of us driving might not be tall enough to reach the pedals.
