You can kill Ifrit as any class now. The only real requirement is to have two CONs. It's just that doing so isn't the most efficient strategy, so most parties want a THM burn setup.Have you guys thought Jobs will lets say let any class do ifrit now. Now that pld can self cure for a good amount you don't need 2 cnj hammering down on cure's, you can have 1 whm curing tank while the other focus on DD's and keep them alive and heal the tank if s/he is in trouble. I do this now as a con so i can see it being even better now.

I've solo-healed Ifrit runs where I was the only Con and we win just fine. 2x Con is not required at all, but I would suggest it for any runs with melee DDs.
That said, if you want to have a Pug tank I think 2x Con is ideal as well and has worked for us.
Also I originally just felt the urge to reply to this thread with the same "Die less" sort of answer, but it taught me these raise items existed and I'm actually rather surprised to find out about it... I will have to check that out and grind up some points.
People really do need to stop dieing, though. For all the hate on WoW I see in this community, people die to Ifrit a lot when a dps death in WoW can easily mean a wipe. You don't get 8x battle raises in that game. You get like... 2, for a 10-man, per boss, and that assumes you even have the classes that can do it and it's off CD.
