Yeah it's a bit ridicolous... Especially when you consider they don't sell Fine Sand at NPCs anymore (it was reasonably priced so I didn't mind). What are we going to do with all these crystals and clusters? Please tell me that sanding 6 fish and then converting to 1 fine sand is going to be the only way to convert most crystals into shards, thats... more than unreasonable, especially if the alchemy reform doesn't address it.
Please give us an effective cluster >crystal >shard conversion method again.

I'm hoping SE can take a hint and implements higher lvl recipes that use crystals and clusters instead of shards. Or maybe crystals and clusters can be used for batch synthesis and the remainder becomes shards...

I noticed blue yarzon legs were in a lot of the ALC recipes although they are not dropped by mobs and can not be bought. Where is the QA during the development of these changes?

[dev1242][dev1244] The following items, phased out as enemy drops in patch 1.19, are now dropped again:
Ogre Horn, Hyena Fang, Blue Yarzon Leg, Drake Skin, Black Scorpion
*sigh* Legendery fish removed.
/sadness

Just wanted to join my fellow crafters in utter disappointment at the latest reforms. I posted an extensive explanation of the problems ALC is faced with, much concerning the lack of cluster > crystal > shard recipes. The devs have no care it seems as this problem is now almost 6 months in the making with not even a hint towards when it will be resolved.

Post patch first impression on synthesis:
I can't tell if abilities are always supposed to work.
As a Blacksmith:
Tender Touch which indicates it reduces durability loss. Losing 8-9 on next three hits. Then 8-9 on all my other hits.
As a Carpenter:
Without Tender Touch, losing 10-12 a turn. With Tender Touch, 6 a turn.
Haven't noticed enough difference with actions that increase quality on next synth.
Liking the experience adjustments.
