WoW is miles easier in general.

I used to be a keyboard turning clicker in WoW and churn out high dps no problem, but I had to up my game a fair bit to get anywhere decent in ff14. Even now I'm only average and haven't gone beyond EX. FF14 can be quite deceptive, you'll think you're doing "fine" because you didn't die and in reality you're only pushing 60% of your potential, while in WoW you're probably actually doing fine.

I personally went through this BADLY during Heavensward. My rotation I had practiced for hours, had notes on my desk and everything. But I had no concept of uptime or GCD clipping and I couldn't figure out why I was doing so little damage compared to my peers. those were fun times.
