Put down the angry red virtual marker and take a few deep breaths. If you're not trolling (which I find increasingly hard to believe) and you are in fact serious, you are doing nothing to help that impression or argue your case.

You don't get a say over what people wear in this game, any more than you get a say over what they wear in public.

Zoom out your camera, stop staring at what your party members are wearing and focus on names, or use the party list as your primary guide to healing (which is probably going to be more effective anyway). Stop focusing on the thing that bothers you, and maybe it will stop bothering you.

(Seriously. In the midst of all this discussion, I got into a trial last night with a male Highlander tank in full bunny gear. I'd forgotten about it before we were 10% into the battle and only remembered about it now, after writing the entire rest of this post. The memory only sticks if you want it to.)

If we're stating our own positions here, I'm a straight female who would pick conservative outfits for both genders, if left to my own tastes in glamour... but it's not my game and we all only get control over our own characters - but the important flipside of that is, nobody else has control of our characters. I'd never put any of mine visibly in a bunny suit, but by the same token I want to be able to use the Shisui set while it's current leveling gear, glamour over it with a robe and long pants, and not give someone else the power to see my character in the skimpy swimwear underneath the glamour. Likewise the Omega sets, or the WHM relic gear that invariably gives us frilly underwear instead of actual pants.

I certainly don't want to have to think about what the de-glamoured set is going to look like when I'm picking my utility leveling gear.

If they ever implemented such a "glamour disabling" option, it's highly unlikely they'd put the work into it to make it function on a character-by-character basis. It would most likely be a single tickbox in the options menu somewhere, and universally turn off glamours for everyone.

And you'll still get someone in fishnet tights and a Namazu head dancing the Manderville in Limsa's aetheryte plaza, just to spite the new rules and demonstrate that you can't stop them from doing it.

Yes it does affect them. It affects the work they may have put into the outfit that offends you. It affects other people who just want their character to be seen in the outfit that they chose, and not have a stranger with the option to turn it off at random.

If you can't know who is using it or when, it just puts a sour note into glamouring as a whole.

Who would have thought that if you post one unremarkable suggestion and one controversial one, it's the controversial one that attracts all the discussion?

What do you want people to say about the aetheryte tickets anyway? There isn't a discussion to be had about it.

"Won't someone please think of the children"... as they play this recommended for ages 15+ game full of violence, weapons, at least two instances of people getting dismembered very-nearly-onscreen, people forced to shoot other people, multiple cases of implied rape, a suicide right in front of our character... and some people wearing pink tights and shoes with bows on them. Yeah, sorry, I don't think the outfits should be the primary concern. Funny how it only became about "minors" after nobody accepted it was about you.

And what do you propose it gets "toggled off" to anyway, if someone is actually wearing the costume and not glamouring it? What happens to all the Gold Saucer staff? Are they in their underwear? Are they in a "non-offensive" version of the costume that the poor minor could innocently decide to wear, and be seen by everyone else in the normal bunny suit?

There isn't one, because the devs would be bombarded by ten times as many random and conflicting "suggestions" as they already receive in other parts of the forum and it would imply they are actively looking for suggestions and are expected to acknowledge them, which they are probably not.

For what it's worth, having been on the official forum for an American game company for a while where the devs were quite active, they said they can't accept fan suggestions for things to put in the game unless it's an official, limited-extent call for submissions (eg. a "design a costume" contest).
