In FFXIV Geomancer is literally what the Domans call Conjury (with a bit of Astrology thrown in), so CNJ is literally GEO under a different name and fused into WHM. So you won't actually get GEO as an actual playable Job I'm sorry to say (GEO NPCs show up in the Swallow's Compass dungeon).

Also elements have been completely removed from the main game so it's a moot point now having a 'traditional' FF GEO that creates spells based on the surrounding elements - it's simply not possible here.

I disagree, after going to swallow's compass and seeing all the geomancer related stuff in there I believe they will most likely be the next healer class. They are changing up the healing system in may so it could happen.

They also made Gaia's hammer a point of interest. Being a god of the earth and all. I wonder what type of magic she would wield?

Geomancy could be another two birds one stone thing like they did with Viera/Fran. Developing a new boss and a new job.

I think Geomancer has the potential to be an interesting job (mechanically) so definitely looking forward to a concept like it.

I understand that this lore may make things difficult but I have to say about lore (and proven true with things like Summoner) that the lore can shift to make Geomancer happen. If people want an area element based job then SE could certainly deliver one. I only say this strongly because you say it's "simply not possible" but I'll have to really disagree with that.

The lore should extremely rarely actually get in the way of anything. Demi happened, so can Geo. Actually Yoshi-P has gone on record saying the lore should not get in the way of the game.

Shouldn't go back and change lore (retcon) but I think it would be sad if you were to suggest there is no way SE can add new / more lore where a Geomancer like theme'd job could exist. Anyway I guess I just don't really like these lore noes because they've been proven different later many times, they're really not a good no. Bringing them up to show difficulty is fair, but to say something cannot happen.. I can't get behind that (especially as it's been said and shown to be adapted/added to later to make things work).

Honestly, this is exactly why I wish WHM had more nature-oriented abilities and less cleric based ones. Sure, it's the traditionally generic 'holy' healer, but in XIV, they're essentially druids.

Doesn't mean we can't see GEO's gameplay, though. Personally, I'd just love to see Conjury changed over to have more elementalism, which WHM then forks away from while GEO doubles down on its original course. I'd want separate experience for split jobs at that point, though.
