Alliance Raid Roulette Dynamic AIL Enforcement? Yes, please!

hello. it has come to my attention that people are abusing manipulating the Alliance Raid Roulette. they are removing pieces of gear to make their AIL low enough to roulette only the very first 2 Alliance Raids. this is unacceptable and must be against some kind of rule somewhere.



only thing i can suggest...

it would just be something like your highest achieved AIL for each job equipped will be recorded. and, when having that job equipped, you are forced to meet that AIL to queue in the roulette. now... it doesn't really need to record the exact number, and can just set stages. even if it does record the exact number, there could be some room for wiggle. this way anyone willing sacrifice a small amount of AIL to trade a piece of gear for something that is best-in-slot for the stat they want to stack won't have to worry about that.

i am sure there is a flaw in the idea somewhere... but i think if the developers could find even the smallest inkling of time, even here & there, then something to that effect would certainly put an end to manipulation of roulette results.

I mean, I could be wrong, I just struggle to imagine enough people doing it to prevent something like Orbonne from being frequent.

well, there's no easy way to know. and sure, it might not be common and... while this isn't EXPLICITLY against the ToS, it is indeed covered. as such, i still feel this type of behavior should be prevented.

The only way to make player not try to cheat the alliance raid roulette would actually be to increase the exp rewards from raids up to the wiping city of mach and above. Because when you see that people manage to wipe on the LoTA, one can only fear what would happen in dun scaith or soon in the stormblood raids.

Where exactly does the ToS cover players choosing to equip the gear THEY want to use before queuing for a duty? Is it an exploit, not really because that's how the system currently works and has done for a long time. You can do it with most roulettes to somewhat effect the outcome, but it's not guaranteed. Besides if there is content you need to do, don't rely on a roulette to give it to you.

On a side note we do need min ilvl for leveling duties (because of undergeared issues), but that's it.

I might be in the wrong here, but isn't the main point of roulettes to ensure that new players are able to find parties for old content they need to clear? The main problem isn't that doing roulette doesn't give you the duty you want, it's that you could have a hard time finding a party for unpopular content even if you queue for it specifically.

Either way, I don't know how big of an issue it currently is and I don't think it matters whether it's against the ToS. If at some point, players become unable to clear content because everyone is cheating the duty finder, they'll fix it. Otherwise, I don't think they care.
