    Dying gear

    Ok, so forgive me if I am asking this in the wrong place. Anyway, I am new to the game and still getting used to it. The game came with a video that showed the ability to dye and reshape armor. I was just curious how to go about doing this. . .i'd asume I'd have to get dye first but I'm not sure where to get that, either lol. I searched the forum for similar questions but couldn't find anything that answer my question exactly. . . .so, any help would be greatly appreciated ^-^;;;

    You get dye by doing off-hand gathering (spearfishing, quarrying, harvesting). Each type of gathering in each of the three zones produces a different color dye, making nine colors in all (red, blue, green, white, black, purple, yellow, grey and brown) Dying gear is a special synth with just the gear and the dye as mats, with no mini-game and (I believe) no possibility of failure, but you will need to be the appropriate DoH class at an appropriate level for the gear to do it. Each piece of a gear has only some colors it can be dyed to, varying on what piece it is. Once a an undyed piece is dyed, it is fixed at that color and can't be re-dyed. Dying does not affect materia affixed to the gear, but *will* reset the spiritbonding back to zero.

    Thanks for your help. I seems like this is something I will have to try when I am a higher level and more immersed in the game mechanics.
