REQUEST: A Portable Orchestion Player

I'm going to relate this to something Soken talked about relating to changing mount music during the NA Fanfest 18 Q&A Panel

He said specifically that a mount could only have one song loaded on to it due to dev team's coding issues. Everyone complained about Sephirot bird only having the first part of the song and not the second like the others and Soken said you would have to get an overwhelming response to choose which one they would do.

I'm gonna say if the coding is just like that having a custom playlist on the go would probably be a pipe dream. It would be fun to have though.

This has been requested in the past and would be nice to have, but the official response (I think I remember) is that in order for this to work you would need to load all of your orchestrion songs every time you zone somewhere. It's not an issue with housing areas because they're limited, but to have all those audio files load every single time you zone would be too much to handle unfortunately.

Considering how they can't even get an orchaestrion to play music as the BGM in a house I don't think they can manage making it portable.

You open the orchestrion, double click the song, press yes, exit menu, and poof! BGM?
I don't understand coding and things so maybe I'm wrong :<

It's Final Fantasy, it would have to be something charming, cute or beautiful. Something like a Bard who plays music, our toons would stop to open a locket or music box. Or possibly something we teach a pet to do. If our pets learned to play music and that little swirl of notes like is around the moogle weapons and songbird emote, and a preset song on a pets collar/locket could play maybe? Who knows, maybe if we collect a certain amount of pets they can dawn little instruments and play a preset song as like an emote with them gathered like a little band...you would have to set up the ones you would wish to play in the band and the song you wanted them to play from the music thing back at your Inn/home/FC room...and our toons would wave around a stick before them like a conductor. What do you think?

That's way too intricate, over the top and unneccessary. Plus it's way too much effort for the devs so you can exclude it before even thinking about it.

My idea was just something to unlock a perk like learning to fly on each new map. But less tedious.

If by pets you mean minions then imagine all the work they'd have to do to add animations to every single minion in a style that would make sense to each minion. THAT is a lot of work.

It's just an idea, but the devs are creative artists, I'm sure they could work something out to our liking should the OP's project be undertaken.
