quit after 7 days - STILL NO HOUSING

so after playing this game on/off for YEARS i decided last week to subscribe again and try it out to see if the housing situation has improved at all......it hasn't. STILL the same over crowded situation.

i'm guessing that NO ONE who has anything to do with making decisions for this game ever reads these forums. but anyways. you all are KILLING this game.

bye bye, you have to be faster getting a house, theres alot of people standing in queue just before houses release, everything is bought up within minutes. If theres 10 thousand players on a server and only about 500 houses, they will dissapear fast, its common sense.

Theres always apartments open if you want a big customizable room. Houses are for free companies.

You can always try ESO housing, or even Second Life. With Second Life you can rent a huge piece of land, create your own mesh, textures, lights, sound.

You come back at the very end of a 6 month auto-demo pause, and then complain like this... If you would have come back next month at this time, there would have been housing available, but bye?

For anyone else thinking about leaving over housing...
There's a solution very soon for those in the know. A period of temporary free server transfers is about to begin.
Move your character to a less populated world which has open housing plots.
Then, when patch 4.57 is released in late April, the new world visit system will allow you to play on all worlds on your datacenter, regardless of which is your home world. You can spread out, take the vacant house plots and still play with you friends on different worlds..

The only issue with this is that auto-demo has been paused on the NA servers since October, so there really aren't many open housing plots *yet*. The OP is on Midgardsormr however, which is already lower to mid pop, and should have plenty available when 4.57 hits. People are also snatching the few remaining smalls up in order to take advantage of the "free" 3 mil for doing a server transfer, but those will all become available next month as well.

Yeah its the ending of a long auto-demo pause, as you have said you've been playing on and off, I'll assume that flew under the radar. Also, housing is far from "killing" the game in it's current state. Yes it could use improvements and as I have stated in a fairly resent thread they have done a few things to try and ease population vs housing over time. FC rooms, apartments, and the expanded ward numbers + the new district they added at the beginning of Stormblood. They are taking small steps over time instead of giant leaps and bounds like most players seem to believe possible with no possible downsides, bugs, instabilities, etc.

Housing is a small, small fraction of what this game offers. Yes it still needs work but I have never understood the insane *need* for personal housing outside of being a small slice to call your own, and gardening if that's your jam.

Why did you expect to come back and find housing available right now when auto-demo in NA is still suspended and next month SE is doing a gil giveaway to house owners who transfer to other worlds? All the available housing got snatched up by people who want their free 3 million gil.

Come back at the start of May and there will be servers with plenty of housing available again, primarily on the Crystal Data Center.

Though I guess since a house is the only reason you want to play and you have no interest in other content, you're better off going to play a game that's all about housing instead of a game that's about other things.

But we can make some intelligent guesses about how much will be available once the demo timers start back up and the free transfers end based on how much was available last summer.

Coeurl was pretty steady over the summer and early fall with over 600 houses available at any given time. It was only once the demo timer was suspended and the gil giveaway announced that we started seeing that number steadily drop by about 100 a month with a final rush in February as players snatched up the remaining houses so they can get the free gil when they transfer next month.

I doubt we'll go back to up to 600 available but 300-400 becoming available once players transfer off and houses begin to demo again seems likely. I wouldn't place bets on how long those last though. It's hard to guess how many players will be transferring to Coeurl with the intention of buying a house, not to mention the influx of new players who might be looking to buy. I doubt we'll be back at the point where there are no houses available outside of the occasional demo but it wouldn't surprise me to see the number down to the 3-4 dozen available at any given time like it was before Stormblood's launch.

The funniest thing is if you came back like back in December or before you would have found hundreds of houses on Midgardsomr. They turned off the housing timers back around September and they all got bought up and just turned them back on. Essentially you quit again over nothing and if you had like one shred of patience to research the housing situation probably have gotten a house quickly. You also forget that with the data centers splitting there will probably be a lot of people leaving Midgardsomr for a crystal bound server (like myself who does indeed have a house and so does my friend who are leaving). Which guess what housing opens up. Housing isn't that bad unless you are on Balmung, which you aren't.

Why would you come back at the end of an expansion and expect huge changes? Your timing is quite off.
