    Frequent and consistent 90001/90002 errors

Hello! I've been experiencing the 90001/90002 disconnection errors typically multiple times every day for the past couple months. Some days it's perfectly fine, but others will have a spree of errors for an hour or two, rendering FFXIV pretty much unplayable.

I've done a fair bit of searching around for solutions and I've tried multiple things to try and fix the problem, including:

    - Testing whether or not it is my ethernet cord (as I typically play on ethernet). After trying out a wireless adapter for a couple days and still getting the error, I can confirm the ethernet cord is not the problem.
    - Port forwarding. It didn't appear to have an effect.
    - Contacting my ISP. They essentially said that the signal levels on the modem are all really good, and according to something called the flapping report, there isn't any flapping at all.
    - Switching to the Directx9 version of the game. No effect.
    - Tweaking Internet settings, as per suggestions on other posts. No effect.

I'm sure I've tried other solutions as well but I'm just blanking on them at the moment. I've tried essentially everything I could find that has been posted online and it doesn't seem to ever fix the issue. I'm really getting frustrated because of the feeling of ruining the game experience for friends and strangers when I suddenly drop out of a dungeon/raid (especially since I'm playing tank). I was hoping that somebody might have a suggestion I haven't heard.

If it helps any, my ISP is Shaw (I'm in Canada) and the modem I am using is the one supplied by them (a Shaw BlueCurve Gateway). I appreciate any and all assistance. Thank you.

Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Have there been any changes made to the network at all? Outside of what was already attempted for trouble shooting, have you tried port forwarding yet? If not please try the following:

-Port Forward – open the following ports:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

    Hope to see you online!

There haven't been any significant changes made, just the small tweaks to try and fix the disconnection issue.

I have tried port forwarding those ports but it did not have an effect on the issue at all.

I have been getting constant 90001 errors as well. I thought it was low bandwidth, but I disconnected from the internet everything else I possibly could in my home and I still got the error messages. What's more, nothing else has connectivity issues. Could it have something to do with those recent DDOS attacks?

FYI my world is Malboro. If that makes a difference.

I'm sure that the recent DDOS attacks would have had an effect at the time.

The weird issue is that I don't disconnect from anything else on my internet (whether streaming music or videos or just downloading something).

It's on their end and the reply is the same across probably hundreds of threads now. My DX errors turned into 90006 errors that cause me to be constantly lagged out and disconnected from the game but only kicked back to the log in screen. Nothing else in my home is experiencing issues and I pay for some top-grade always on connection with low usage across the board. The port opening/don't use wifi response is OLD. We need solutions.

I agree that we do need some solutions. Like you, I don't have any issues with anything else in my house (PS4, Switch, phone, laptop), nor do I have the issue with any other online games I play.

I will say that since starting to use Mudfish a couple of days ago, the problem seems to have more or less gone away. Whether I'm just lucky at the moment, I'm not sure. However, it's ridiculous that I need another program to make the game playable.

Update: I switched to Mud ... NIGHT and day difference. I've had a couple of massive slow downs, but it seems to hold on. Thanks for the tip, but I agree with you on that we shouldn't have to pay for other services just to play the game.
