    Some Lore Questions (Spoilers)

On the 13th Shard Warriors used Auracite to trap primals and used that power until it corrupted them and made the 13th Shard the World of Darkness.

In the Ivalice raid Ultima is show making Auracite. So, was she originally summoned to the 13th Shard or did she originate from there and get summoned here to destroy the city of Mullonde?

Also if Voidsent were created by auracite what are the Sin Eaters created by? That being said are all voidsent created by the auracite or is that just the more powerful ones like Cloud of Darkness, with the lesser voidsent just manifesting from the darkness. Which still leaves that the more powerful Sin Eaters were created similarly or are they just manifestations of the light?

    What do you think?

A lot of what happens surrounding the Ivalice raid is deliberately left vague; such is Yasumi Matsuno's particular idiom.

Voidsent aren't all auracite-mutated people, though some are. Most are just what remained of normal people after the Flood of Darkness twisted the Thirteenth.

We don't have any information on the Sin Eaters at present. The fact Innocence is the implicit model for Admadpor's Kuribu raises a lot of questions...

My guess is Igeyorhm simply took some Auracite to the Thirteenth, although I'm not too sure Ultima is the source of all Auracite? Given it was also used in trapping and defeating Nabriales, I was more under the impression that it was just a naturally occurring substance, and Ultima merely worked it into something more... Weaponized?

As for Voidsent, I don't believe Auracite is directly involved in creating any Voidsent. The story we were given was that, upon trapping Primals in Auracite, the energies started to bleed out and warp that worlds heroes and negatively effect them, resulting in fighting and I guess some form of monsterfication, eventually causing a Flood of Darkness. The Flood of Darkness is what I'd say created Voidsent as we know them, given they're very Ascian-like in their undying nature. A lot of their forms could perhaps have been a result of Auracite, but a lot of their forms are also a result of host bodies; Dragons, for example, shouldn't exist in the Thirteenth. During Xandes war with Bahamut/Tiamat though, he used Voidsent and they possessed plenty of Dragons. Makes it kind of hard to tell what originated in the Void and what found its way there through various Voidgates over the years...

Interestingly enough, we have some evidence for Primals aether warping individuals on the Source as well, namely in Sastasha (Hard), where all the pirate enemies have been affected by Leviathan... Interestingly Lamia appear in that dungeon, in fact I recall some debate as to why, given they'd so far only been shown as Allagan chimeras... Makes me wonder if all the Allagan Lamia are in fact artificial Voidsent, and Leviathan just happened to make some more...

Yeah, Voidsent aren't necessarily all mutated by Auracite. Especially not because Voidsent aren't only people, but animals as well that were corrupted.

Whether or not the Auracite was actually the reason for the mutation, isn't certain. It's possible that when people with Auracite started fighting each other for more power, it created a bunch of Dark, and this Dark is what caused the mutations during the flood of Darkness that would engulf the world.

If it was in fact, the darkness that caused the mutation and not the Auracite (Also, if this is how Voidsent such as the ones in Haukke Manor (Hard) turn Wood Wailer's blood into Voidsent, via infusing them with Dark - Which I believe is the case, given that it doesn't state that they "Summoned" a Voidsent to the realm, but "Turned the Wood Wailer's blood" into one) then it would stand to reason that a similar method created the Sin Eaters, with the Flood of Light creating high amounts of Light that corrupted living beings and turned them into Sin Eaters.

Though, how the hierarchy works, is a mystery. Perhaps the hierarchy of Voidsent is that beings that were empowered by the Auracite became the higher ranked Voidsent. Though if that is the case, then we'd be left to wonder about the hierarchy of the Sin Eaters, since, as far as we know, people on the First weren't using Auracite. I suppose we could theorize that people whom are exposed to high levels of light throughout their life, such as those heroes whom had been toppling Primals, would be more susceptible to the corrupting nature of pure Light and thus become the higher ranking Sin Eaters.

I go back and forth on whether they were meant to be connected (since by the time Zurvan was out, they knew Ivalice was happening) or whether these were details that hadn't been decided yet and would only be connected afterwards, in which case we just wait for the ReVeLaTiOnS. With the oddity that is Ultima and the oddities that are the Sin Eaters, I'm in "Wait and gather more information." mode on this one. Let's see what Shadowbringers has to say about it. Word on the street is that Shadowbringers is here to fill pot holes and chew bubblegum.

Wait, pot holes? We are going to be doing road maintenance in Shadowbringers? Is this related to the new Regalia mount?
