I'll just leave this here...Not to play devil's advocate, but a reverse grip is slightly more ideal than what would be considered the "proper" grip. The main reason for this is because of our own anatomy. With a "proper" grip, similar to how PLDs hold their swords, the blade can be easily twisted inward and used against the person wielding it. However, with a reverse grip, the blade is a lot harder to twist. There are other advantages as well, but those are more weapon and wielder specific, as well as more media based. But a reverse grip is a thing, and is very practical.

Near the end I was like "You clever son of a b-"
Massive swords and axes that WAR and DRK have access to are generally supposed to be used as crushing weapons, given how long or wide or even both in rare cases with some slashing properties because of the blade being sharpened...
I'm just taking guess of that's weapons like that would have been used IRL in ye olde times...
Also in the God Eater games the Buster Blade has crushing properties as well as slashing properties, and then you have the Heavy Moon weapon(if Warrior and Dancer weapons had a baby) in God Eater 3 that has the same damage properties as the buster blade...
There are some non-sword glamors you can get right now, for a variety of classes including dark knight there's the blackbosom reaper scythe weapons (on the mogstation). Theres also the Aka Oni greatclub you can get from pvp. Those are the only two i know of however, i'm sure if you look around you might find some other options for the other tanks too.
Medieval bladed weapons not being sharp is a weirdly common misconception. Aside from this being contradicted by techniques shown in old fighting manuals, logically, why in the heck would anybody bother making blades if they were going to use them as blunt weapons?Massive swords and axes that WAR and DRK have access to are generally supposed to be used as crushing weapons, given how long or wide or even both in rare cases with some slashing properties because of the blade being sharpened...

Using their size as reasoning is pointless, as real live axes and great swords were nowhere near as big and wide, but this is a fantasy game so obviously everything will be exaggerated to look appealing. Weapons like these wouldn't be used for "crushing" in real life - they just wouldn't be used at all due to how unwieldy and slow they'd be.
Given that fact that their was no real way to get so ripped to the point where 1 person could actually use them no problem in medieval times, you are right... but with the introduction of steroids in modern day, and this is a fantasy game that has mecha as trash mobs and the occassional boss or 12, and Roegadyn look like they have been hitting the gym to the point where they might as well be living in said gym(maybe they took some steroids as well), and most armor would be tough to crack open without a piercing weapon like a polearm unless you got lucky and with a sword and got the vulnerable spot, because I am pretty sure that if Roegadyn were real, those swords and axes that are as big and wide as a normal sized person in ye olde times... well if you have heard have anime/manga called Berserk you would probably have an idea of what to expect...Medieval bladed weapons not being sharp is a weirdly common misconception. Wow, I honestly don't know how to interpret that video. Are you agreeing, being funny, sarcastic, or did you honestly not understand what I said.
The easiest way I can probably simplify what I was saying, without coming across as rude is this; there is a reason they say don't run with scissors.
It's an explanation of the weaknesses of reverse grip with shortblades, done completely in poetic form.Wow, I honestly don't know how to interpret that video. Are you agreeing, being funny, sarcastic, or did you honestly not understand what I said.

I get what the video is, and what it's trying to say. I was just asking why the poster posted it; were they being sarcastic or were they trying to "prove me wrong".
The guy in the video shows you a lot of ways a reverse grip is bad and a proper grip good, but why doesn't he mention the negatives of a proper grip and the positives of a reverse grip. Throughout the video he is demonstrating THE major negetive a proper grip has and probably doesnt even realise it. Just to note, he specifically is talking about fighting. I never said fighting outright, I just said based on our anatomy a reverse grip is more ideal and practical.
Like I said, the easiest way I could probably say it without coming off as rude is, there is a reason they say don't run with scissors.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
