    I can only assume Battlecraft leves existed differently from how they function now? I mean Battlecraft leves never went away, so did they do something different in 1.0?

    They never "went away", but they, essentially, stop at level 50. There are some from 50-60 in Ishgard, but the fact that you need to go to the city, find the NPC, and travel to the zone where you execute the leve, means they are pretty much a waste of time for anything but crafting. 60+ we only have crafting leves.
