Trading between alts

SE wouldn't do this as I said before they won't risk losing money.
its people pay the extra 1 dollar for the retainers and someone paying the multi character on same server price they are getting 2 free retainers SE is now losing cash.

I doubt SE will do this because it eliminates putting retainers on the store.

they could make it able to trade but make you pay for the free two retainers on alternate account.
this way they lose no money but I betcha you will be like no cause i want it free.

the whole purpose is to try to get out of paying for the 2 other retainers not just to gear up a alt, I believe SE is smarter than that give them more credit.

At the same time I can see why they don't allow it in general as I would of had to pay for 3 additional retainers that I otherwise wouldn't be able to use, if I did not have my alt befriended.

Wouldn't make a difference with the mail restriction of 5 items per mail. Way too time consuming for my taste.

I'm able to send stuff to my alt and you are allowed to send 5 items per mail but you can send up to 4 mails in total with 5 items in each = total of 20 items before you have to collect them.

I think there is a good chance that may happen when they allow alts to share housing. They said they were working on it so lets hope it's going to be introduced in 5.0. Until then the FC chest is the best option for sharing in lieu of bugging friends continually to mail them stuff.

I have 4 retainers full of crafting stuff and as an omnicrafter I use a LOT of stuff. It would in no way be feasible to transfer via alts instead of using my 2 extra retainers.

Because you don’t need alts, ever? Every class can be done on one character.

Storage space? If you try having a few crafts and gathering professions, you'll be perpetually out of storage space.
Personally, I'd have gathering profs and DPS on one character (So I can kill troublesome mobs faster), and my crafters on one or more alts.
When I tried fishing early on, I nearly filled my bag space with just baits and different fish.

Edit: I'd like to see each gathering and crafting job to come with a new bag that's automatically included in your standard bag list when you switch to that job, but is restricted only to items used in / produced by that job. Crafting items would be used from the crafting bag, or the regular one, with no need to move them first.
You could still access it from other jobs like the chocobo saddlebag, to remove or add compatible items.

I'm not paying for more accounts. I'm posting in this thread to let them know I'd like an in-account solution. If they don't listen, whatever. But I'll make my wish known.

Maybe not, but you need to also account for the cost of developing the feature, which considering they haven't done it up to now and all the server limitations/problems must be quite high. It's just highly unlikely they'd put that much time/money into it.

There's been talk about sharing private houses across alts. Tack the development onto that feature, it should be able to share some of the groundwork resources required.

They increased stack size to 999 from 99. *THAT* was a risk to losing money. Being able to mail directly to yourself is peanuts compared to that risk.
