Trading between alts

I know its not necessary to have alts, but that doesn't mean the game has to be unfriendly to alts.

I can understand those that have everything maxed and everything they could want on their main.

It really is silly for them to be this against alts. The only other way to think of is to have a friend that you trade the items, that will then trade the items to your alt.

Will we ever see a easy way to do this? Why is it not already in game? Game just seems alt unfriendly.

FFXIV is brutal on us alt players. One way they could alleviate this is by adding a cross-character stash space that could be used for moving items to other characters and then the single people could just use it for storage. Everyone wins.

... I think you're overestimating the number of people who'd go through that much trouble just to get access to more crafting items. Kinda reminds me of everyone who was super worried that the companion app was going to let people get a monopoly on the MB because they could pay to change their prices every five seconds. Not enough people want to do that for it to even make a dent in the game's economy.

I can't even be bothered to buy/sell those crafting items on my main, and I'm an omni-crafter. If I'm doing custom deliveries on my alts, it's to get them the gear.

I never seen anyone say that about the app once.

@Rowde I already wrote in my very first post that it could be better and just pointed out one option that you have at the moment. The next post was another option you have. Like or dislike what i wrote, that are the options that you have and i never wrote that i would be AGAINST the idea of sending something to another character on your own account. But feel free to act like i did.

I doubt it would have any significant impact. Alts are not efficient storage, especially with how small and clunky the mail system is, plus the limit on characters.

Still free space though. If players could send mails to their "bank alts" they would do it in a blink of an eye: FREE inefficient storage system still beats PAID inefficient storage system.

Now if we could have a sort of storage room that is account bound, that would solve a lot of issues but Square is determined to nickel and dime on those retainers so...

No. I wouldn't. Retainers are not inefficient, well not comparatively. I would trade a few things between alts, but I would never give up my paid retainers. I don't went to spend the entirety of my playtime mailing stuff back and forth.

I befriended many of my alts during the window when it was possible, and I must say it has been most helpful and without it I "probably" would have bought extra retainers even if only temporarily.

I play on my alts similarly to how I play on my my main (packrat), so they have storage issues of their own without me dumping extra crap on them. :P
