Trading between alts

Because if they did allow such a thing, demand for paid retainers would plummet.

Increasing stack size from 99 to 999 would have had more of an impact.

While people would like to be able to move things between alts, not all items that take up inventory space can be transferred - such as bound gear.

The current mail limitations (5 attachments per letter, 20 total attachments in mailbox) would keep the process limited enough where people won't be moving massive quantities around between characters easily.

Allowing mailing between alts is going to put a damper on retainer subs as much as you think.

Maybe not, but you need to also account for the cost of developing the feature, which considering they haven't done it up to now and all the server limitations/problems must be quite high. It's just highly unlikely they'd put that much time/money into it.

SE wouldn't do this as I said before they won't risk losing money.
its people pay the extra 1 dollar for the retainers and someone paying the multi character on same server price they are getting 2 free retainers SE is now losing cash.

I doubt SE will do this because it eliminates putting retainers on the store.

they could make it able to trade but make you pay for the free two retainers on alternate account.
this way they lose no money but I betcha you will be like no cause i want it free.

the whole purpose is to try to get out of paying for the 2 other retainers not just to gear up a alt, I believe SE is smarter than that give them more credit.

At the same time I can see why they don't allow it in general as I would of had to pay for 3 additional retainers that I otherwise wouldn't be able to use, if I did not have my alt befriended.

Wouldn't make a difference with the mail restriction of 5 items per mail. Way too time consuming for my taste.

I'm able to send stuff to my alt and you are allowed to send 5 items per mail but you can send up to 4 mails in total with 5 items in each = total of 20 items before you have to collect them.

I have 4 retainers full of crafting stuff and as an omnicrafter I use a LOT of stuff. It would in no way be feasible to transfer via alts instead of using my 2 extra retainers.

I'm not paying for more accounts. I'm posting in this thread to let them know I'd like an in-account solution. If they don't listen, whatever. But I'll make my wish known.

I think there is a good chance that may happen when they allow alts to share housing. They said they were working on it so lets hope it's going to be introduced in 5.0. Until then the FC chest is the best option for sharing in lieu of bugging friends continually to mail them stuff.

There's been talk about sharing private houses across alts. Tack the development onto that feature, it should be able to share some of the groundwork resources required.
