So the flood of Light was halted, presumably by Minfillia, in Ahm Araeng. Also we can confirm that Ahm Araeng = Thanalan (basically) since its the desert region in the south of Norvrandt. Kholusia is more than likely to be Vylbrandt, and Rak'tika is the Black Shroud. Il Mheg is still debatable but it seems more likely to be Coerthas than it does Dravania , or maybe a combination of the regions. The only question I have is how on earth Ahm Araeng became a desert when on the Source, Thanalan only became one because of the 3rd Calamity, or is Ahm Araeng the Sagolii Desert instead, to which I want to ask if the Sagolii always existed.

The Silvertear Lake equivalent is called the Source... and I'm really thinking we are gonna be climbing out of it at the beginning of ShB. "Hey where did you come from?" "The Source" "Yeah, I saw you climb out of it, but srsly where?"

Rak'tika was once home to great magical empire of Rokan, and I hope these guys replace the Allagans as our endgame currency source, if just for a breath of fresh air.

The regions of the First decimated by the Flood Of Light are collectively known as 'The Empty' fittingly enough. And the raid of Eden is about 'wielding the power of Eden' to return the elements. Which makes it seem like Eden is not just another primal...

I am a bit concerned about the whole "Hero becomes villain as the Warrior of Light embraces the dark" as part of the intro to the story section....

I have more thoughts, but they are still unorganized at this juncture.

So the Hrothgar are the inventors of the Gunblade, at least the one used by the gunbreakers. Don't be suprised if our Job Trainer has a Lionheart name of some sort as a reference to Squall.

Calling it, Gunbreaker will have Save the Queen as either a weapon or relic... That lore we get just makes it all but a certainty... A shame, I was hoping Red Mage would get it...

As far as Eden goes... I wouldn't rule them out as being a Primal... On the Source Primals seem to tip things towards Darkness, or at least Chaos, and us defeating them seems to be a push towards Light... Defeating every Primal is partly what got the First into this mess, so it would make sense to me that we'd want to help a Primal on the First, might be the only thing that can work against the Flood of Light. Then again, it's described as a power the likes of which the First has never know... Potentially rules out Primals, but hints that it's something we might have on the Source? Plot twist; Eden is Black Rose. Could also just be as simple as "Wait, we can summon Primals too?", probably a concept that never crossed the minds of the people on the First, given they had a successful campaign against Primal summoning... Only other two options that jump out to me are Dragon and Omega related... Dragons do seem to be apt at warping nature in some fashion... And Omega gave the Allag aetherochemistry and all that crazy stuff, which could be related to Eden? Does seem like we're basically terraforming, which I imagine the Allagan figured out... Since the First should have no Middy or Omega, those would both be "powers" unknown to the First but known to us.

Now that I've said it though... Eden is totally Black Rose... Solus did seem to think that Black Rose would be most susceptible to the influences of aether following a deluge of Light... He was talking about the Source, but the First seems like the perfect testing grounds for whatever he has planned, no?

It seems we may have a beast tribe dispute to deal with, Nu Mou vs Pixies, sounds interesting though it'll probably be the Pixies are being too aggressive scaring the Nu Mou then as you come to the region and earn their trust they tell you of their plight and of the primal Titania then bam primal plot go beat up, Pixies get scared and run the you help the Nu Mou to keep track of their activities going forward.

Does sound like Minfilia is on the run due to stopping the flood of light and the sin eaters probably just want her dead to continue the flood and Innocence is probably the leader of that task. Glad to see was right about the sin eaters having a Hierarchy as well though who is above/commanding Innocence is still a mystery(can be good can be bad depends how much build up they have)

It's interesting to learn that the Crystal Tower was not built separately in both the Source and the First. It just appeared, and the Crystarium was built around it.

Between that and the Kholusia blurb(which I can't copy and paste for some reason), I think it's pretty easy to predict how the story will go in that area.

So O'Ghomoro is renamed to Mt. Gulg on the First... Interesting...

I'm going all in with this theory at this point... Just need an addendum to mix FF1 and FF4 Crystal locations, rather than drawing solely from FF4...

At the very least, I hope we're finally getting a volcano zone (no Pyros doesn't count, that zone in pure nonsense), I've been waiting to visit O'Ghomoro ever since 1.x and this was dropped off;

That pathway is still there, blocked off, unused... Forgotten...

Now that I think about it, I wonder if First world travel might involve the Source a bit... Sort of like what XI did with Wings of the Goddess; Go here in the present to get behind this wall in the past, or something like that... So say, perhaps there are no boats travelling to Kholusia, so we cannot get there in the First. We instead make a loophole, travel back to the Source, go to La Noscea, then portal back to the First. Would be an interesting way to use a lot of the fairly unused areas in past zones, as well as make a good excuse to involve the Source storyline somewhat.

I feel like they're just baiting us...

when it comes to the whole "WoL is becoming a villain" thing.

I'm thinking that the people of Norvrandt may simply view us as such initially considering that their WoLs basically caused the end of the world as they know it and that we'll have to work before we're widely accepted amongst the populace.

It would take something really serious to make the folks back at the Source dislike us after all we've done.

Gunbreaker being culturally Hrothgar is a bit weird. Appearance and racial gear-wise I didn't get the impression of them being very tech-savvy. But maybe they're a bit like Guild Wars 2 Charr?
