Eww...
"Limited Job" *Vomits*
Also, WoW burned me on the whole "Pokemon in an MMO" thing with its crappy Pet Battles (Which I did invest a ton of time into, but that's because there was nothing else to do in the game...)
/Comfort.
We can get through this! They know not what they ask.lol.
On aside note to their comment though WoW does have a sort of minion pokemon game they might find interesting (adding our own FFXIV spin/improvements ofc, may use LoV resources perhaps) or even look at FFXI's Monster Rearing content and expand that with some open world content.

Shepard job, or maybe advanced portion of Beast Master (keeping beast master "main"-able)?

It would be nice to have More places to explore with flying disabled or limited in older areas With caves, sand seas, old castles, hidden libraries with lore, underwater salvaging, fantasy styled underwater sight seeing, out of the way tribal or trading villages/stops, vistas, unmapped gathering node, treasure chests with basic materials and weapons (vintage), mountain hiking/climbing using jumping as the only way to reach places, the roots and tree tops and vine pathways in the Shroud, Old machi settlements, larger and more expansive floating islands in the Sea of clouds, frontier settlents, more ancient bone, more allagan nodes and ruins, et cetera. It would be just so cool to learn to make coffee as an alchemist in places from a random research party at some ruins or from a group of biologists researching new plant.

Reminds me of another thread about Lanterns where it was brought up having places that are pitch black that you have to explore using the light from your lanterns otherwise you couldn't see.
The trick would be finding an incentive for people to actually go to these places...
Perhaps if Sightseeing Log gave some actual rewards?
Love it or hate it, it would be open world content, except BLU screwed that all up with half the spells locked in DF ><
Open World content we have currently:
FATE
Hunts
Treasure Maps
Guildleve
Beast Tribe Quest
Sightseeing
Still need Chocobo Hot and Cold game.

Well, this is basically mostly exploratory-type player appeal content, which rewarding this type is as simple as an intractable piece of paper, or a beautiful area that can only be found by being curious and wanting to see how high you can climb a surface. Which would totally be more common if flight was far more limited in a few already existing areas (Ghir Abania). And, two good examples of RPGs that appeal to this demographic would be Xenoblade (x, 2) & Elder scrolls.Ooh...

Oh, that would be so spooky. PPL would just start feeling totally nervous with just lv 3 ladybugs and those worms from FFXI just showing up out of nowhere

I think they should let us pitch tents and build campfires, I don't know how much life it would add to the overworld but it would be cool to find a nice spot and set up a camp. Invite some friends, have a party, hang out, go fishing, swimming etc.
I'll give you a like because that would be cool
Open Wolrd PvP Registration!!! I want to see them activate GC pvp in the open world.
More of the "easy" jump puzzles like the ones in rhalgrs would be awesome
I'd love some kind of weekly PVE battle content, where unlike a fate its not on a timer and chipping away at it helps you and other players if the playerbase reach a threshold by the end of the week. Then if you fail you get zone-wide redbelly hive type effects. Thats never gonna happen though.
More realistically I'd like to see fates in beast tribe zones, especially older ones, give beast tribe reputation.
I think the thing we're likely to get in 5.0 though is something like an instanced dungeon unlocking via doing fates
