    I downclocked as much as MSI Afterburner allowed me. I believe -200 Mhz on the GPU.

    To disable the services, Windows+R, type msconfig, then press Enter. Tick "hide Microsoft services", untick anything else. Enter and reboot.

    Thank you for the specifics! I'm going to try both things shortly and report back.
    Thanks for making this thread and getting more specific for me!

    Edit: I think it worked! In DirectX11 too, though I was and am prepared to try in 9 if the error returns. But so far so good, got 3 hours or more or play time without the issue I think c:
