Recruit a friend?

Hello, just a quick question that I couldn't find an answer too online.

I recently brought one of my buddies into this game after they did the trial up to level 35. We recently hit level 50 (its been about a week or so since we started). He bought the game a week ago on steam. Is it too late to use a recruit-a-friend code? I found my code, but I'm not sure where he's supposed to enter it.

Anyone who's done this who could give me a clue? Thanks.

He needs to enter the code on mogstation, there will be a special banner for it under service options I think.
However, if he already has set up a subscription, then it's too late.

This is true, but just to be clear, during the one month that is included with retail purchase of the base game, no subscription time has been bought, so RAF codes are still valid. As long as he hasn't purchased subscription time or applied a time card, he can still apply a RAF code.
