Krausus is correct, voice chat is required only to listen during events, you don't have to speak. We actually have one guy in the Linkshell Grey calls the "Charlie Chaplin of FFXIV" and he is awesome. If you can still communicate and play well without speaking then that is totally cool.

Hello again Gungnir! We are now looking for 3-4 end-gamers to join our raid nights. The Linkshell is looking for well-rounded players with Bard or Black Mage or DD Warrior as their main, but also able to play another class/job when needed to get the win. Recruitment has been closed for just over a month now but we are still accepting applications. We are not processing any of these applications until the launch of 2.0, and only in very limited quantities. Those we are considering are those players who are needed to fill roles within the linkshell.
