Things about the game we like.

Yes, I have a list of things I don't like about the game. Outfits limited to class and level so I cant glamour them, and lack of exaggeratedly long anime hair styles....but, the forum is already filled with complains, so I decided to start a thread about things about the game we DO like and enjoy. So here are a few of mine to start this....

Favorite Enemy's: Two notable off hand that makes me laugh every time; Cactaur, when a fight starts they squeak and get into that stance. XD The other are those posing zombies.

The Golden Saucer: A giant facility full of mini games. I love it! Well, maybe not that domino thing yet, I still haven't learned what going on with that.

The Moogle weapons and Mounts: If it's one thing I love is "cute!" And the Moogle weapons are my favorite weapon designs! I have the katana for my Samurai and I'm saving for the book for my Scholar.

I really love we have sync and unsync because new players and veterans can play together and both enjoy the game. I love a lot of things in ffxiv like the moogle wpns like you said but more importantly also is the lore, story, open world and characters. Ffxiv is the best mmo i ever played! : )

    I like:

    All jobs on 1 character.

So I don't have to pick one to main, I can just play them all! :3

    Miqo'te.

They're just too darn cute :3

    MSQ's

Very interesting and easy to follow (Unlike many MMO's where after about 5 minutes into the expansion it's basically "Things happened. Bad guys died. BUT NOT REALLY PREVIOUS BOSS OUT OF NOWHERE WHAM!" where half the time you're like "WTF am I even doing here?"). My only wish is that it could incorporate a bit more side content into the canon but I understand the barriers that prevent that (Inb4 retconning Crystal Tower raid into canon for ShB)

Items that stack up to 999

Even if you can only purchase/sell stacks of 99... Being able to go up to 999 is very nice and helps keep inventory more condensed (Y'all ever held on to over 2200 health potions in WoW? They only stack to 20. I had literally no inventory space ;_; Also, before anyone asks why I needed over 2200 health potions... It's like they say "Better to have 2200 health potions and not need them, then need 2200 health potions and not have them!"

The fact that there is very little, if any, grind until endgame. A lot of other MMOs I play force you into a wall while you're still leveling and at that point I switch games. The MSQ being decent quality is also helpful of course

The gathering and crafting system. After finally getting all my battle jobs to max and starting on my crafting and gathering jobs, I can see why a lot of people view FFXIV's "Profession" system as one of the best. I don't think i've ever enjoyed and been immersed this much into crafting and gathering in any other game as i am in FFXIV. I can't wait for the new crafter's endgame content they have in store for Shadowbringers.

This is the first MMO I stuck with for a few reasons:

1: Having armor/clothing options for my female character that actually....LOOKS LIKE FUNCTIONAL ARMOR. Seriously. It bugs the heck out of me when armor variations on female models is the "sexy Halloween costume" variant of the cool looking guy armor. Being able to deck my lady out in proper plate or in slick looking caster gear went a long way in endearing this game to me.

2: Knowing that I wouldn't be locked into a single class was awesome.

3: Story. Especially the little winks they give about how you end up in instances with full parties. "Warrior of Light, you always manage to find capable adventurers to help you in your fight!" I think it does a solid job of putting every player in the spotlight of their own story while explaining all the other adventurers out there.

4: Variety of end game content. Like to raid? We got raids! Don't like raiding? Well we have other classes, relic weapons, gathering, crafting, mini games, side quests, EX trials, achievements, and hunts! There's a little something for everyone.

5: Glamour (a bit different from my number 1 of how dear looks) is fantastic. It's so cool to see what people put together with all the different looking gear you can make and find. Walking through the major cities it's neat to see all the variety rather then a bunch of cookie cutter looking outfits.

Things I like about FFXIV -

The Music: it never disappoints me, and I'll buy those OSTs the second they're available for preorder. Absolutely love the music in this game.

The Zones: I love taking pictures in this game, and a lot of my screenshots are pictures of the zones. I can tell the developers put a lot into both the overworld zones and the dungeons, and my favorite part of new expansions is getting to explore the new zones. On alts, I explore them on foot to take in the sights again.

Ultimate: my favorite piece of content in this game. This game has stuff for everybody, and I really love that the developers took the time to develop a piece of content for the 1% that wanted something super hard.

The entirety of Heavensward: still my favorite part of the story thus far. I level alts just to do HW again.

Ability to have all jobs leveled on a single character: I like having options with regards to what I can play. With this game, I have a lot of options!

Job aesthetics and animations: I really like the aesthetics certain jobs have. BRD's original artifact gear is why I chose it when I started playing. AST's and DRK's animations are why I chose to level them after I finished leveling BRD. A lot of jobs have nice animations to them, and these animations sometimes attract me towards playing them.

Lore: I like how much lore is in this game, and how deep and intricate it can be.

DRK quests: favorite quests in the game. I like that they focus on our character for once rather than another character. And the Japanese translations I've read for a few of them have a much deeper way of conveying meaning than English localizations, which I appreciate even more.

It depends. I like the idea of reliving it on my main, but my alts also have characters of their own, and I like seeing them go through it as well. Each of my characters are different, so it’s a different sort of feeling each time for me.

First and foremost has to be the story. I am invested in my character as much as I am because I can’t wait to be apart of the next saga. Secondly has to be having one character for all jobs. It makes my character’s history and progression that much more meaningful.
