Hells' Kier EX - Off-Tanks and Plumes?

So I haven't done Suzaku EX in a while, not since my FC cleared it and got everyone 10 totems for a weapon back around the time the fight was new. Having done everything I want in Eureka now, I've taken to filling my time with going back to do dog/bird farms I never did. Most of them have gone well enough, but when doing this particular trial, I began to notice that if I'm partnered with the OT, they often abandon me when it comes time to kill the plumes in phase 1. 9 times out of 10, they're several seconds behind me in getting to the plume, if they show up at all; if/when they arrive, they do a hit or 2 and then leave. I've never seen a healer do this, and I understand that the MT has other concerns, but I don't get what all these OTs are doing or why. Could someone more in-the-know about community strats enlighten me?

Were we born to fight and die? Sacrificed for one huge lie?
    Are we heroes keeping peace?
    Or are we weapons?
Pointed at the enemy so someone else can claim a victory?

Its simple: the OT is essentially a melee-DPS who wants to deal damage to her and keep as much uptime as possible. A healer doesnt has to worry about this, since their attacks are ranged and the MT will always be close to Suzaku, because they're the MT. The OT has to disengage, which is pretty annoying and wants to get back asap.

Also: you shouldnt really need any help with killing your plume at this point, assuming you have proper gear and know your rotation...

It's not a matter of NEEDING the help. It's a matter of figuring out why I'm consistently the only one that gets ditched. I don't personally understand the mindset that pushes a tank to bail on their assigned partner so they can deal an extra 1/2-ish% of damage to a boss that's gonna die well before enrage anyway, but I guess I'm not surprised that the answer to my question is just that simple. Thanks.

Ideally, a DPS should be more than capable of taking down their Scarlet Plume alone; this was the case even when the primal was new. I run EX trials on healer and I don't always attack the plumes either, since the MT actually takes a buster there, so I'm usually healing them. I only attack the plume if my DPS is clearly struggling, but you should be able to kill it alone and without an OT's help. The OT probably knows this, thus why they stay on the boss.
