    DX Fatal error, potential fix.

(might be wrong sub forum. My bad if so)
Hey guys, so I know a couple of others have had this issue and I wanted to share what seems to have fixed it for me. Now this fix may be because my card is 4ish years old, but after trying everything else, it was the only thing that worked.
Lock your FPS at 60 in the game menu. If you have a older card try and play at standard graphics as well. Might be okay with newer cards to play at high or max. But that seems to be a huuuge resource sink for older cards. (maybe newer to? I dunno) I've played two nights in a row now with no fatal errors. Might not be the fix for you, but doesn't hurt to try it out.

Here I have a GTX1080 TI, I had this problem 2 weeks ago, it was really annoying with all those random DX Fatal error crash, but it all happened after an update of the Nvidia driver from Windows, so I reversed it and made the update again and it seems to have fixed the issue. Maybe it's something with Nvidia. ? Also playing in 4k with graphics set to max so the FPS is not much higher than 60-65 and a bit lower in Eureka when doing a NM with the train on it. But maybe there is multiple causes to it and FPS can be one. But in my case I'm pretty sure that it was my drivers, so it can be a good thing to reinstall them ?

I have a amd build. The card I'm using currently is a Radeon r9 290x lightning. I've also seen a lot of people online with various kinds of builds that have had this issue. some have found it to be drivers. Other overlays etc. And plenty have no fix at all. The thing that worked for me was obscure, so thought I'd add it to the pile for people to try.
that being said, the stuff I tried previously were:
clean uninstall and reinstall of drivers (didn't fix)
    completely updated windows (didn't fix)
ran virus malware etc scans just in case and found nothing
ran several diagnostics and found nothing wrong.
uninstalled and reinstalled ff14 (didn't fix)
made sure my computer started with a clean boot (did nothing)
    verified there was no overlays.

the slandered graphics suggestion is simply because I noticed my GPU goes from 50-55% utilization at most on standered. But 99-100% just on high. same on max settings.

I can't seem to edit of my post. forgot to add; whenever I had the game unlocked from 60fps, I was reaching over 100fps in most areas. heck, the start screen was going over 300 when I opened the setting menu from there.
