Job names in the first

Since we are going to the first i think we should come up with names for the jobs on the first =D,

Paladin = Holy Knight (FFT) or Templar (FFTA)
Warrior = Berserker (FF5) or Viking (FF3) or Ravager (FFTA)
Dark Knight = Ark Knight (FFT) or Mystic Knight (FF5)
Gunbreaker = Gunblader (FF8) or Soldier (FF7)
White Mage = White Wizard (FF1 Upgraded Job) or Seer (FFTA2) or Devout (FF3)
Scholar = Sage (FFTA/FF3) or Oracle/Mystic (FFT)
Astrologian = Astrologer (FFT) or Time Mage (FFT)
Dragoon = Dragon Knight or Dragonkin (FFT) or Uhlan (FF12)
Monk = Black Belt (FF1) or White Monk/Master Monk (FFTA2)
Samurai = Parivir (FFTA2) or Swordmaster (Bravely Default)
Ninja = Assassin (FFTA) or Shikari (FF12)
Summoner = Evoker (FF3) or Shaman (FF13)
Black Mage = Black Wizard (FF1 Upgraded Job) or Elementalist (FFTA) or Magus (FF3)
Red Mage = Red Wizard (FF1 Upgraded Job) or Spellblade (FFTA2)
Bard = Ranger (FF3) or Sniper (FFTA) or Hunter (FFTA)
Machinist = Engineer (FFT) or Fusilier (FFTA2)
Dancer = Juggler (FFTA) or Songstress (FFX-2)

Arbert and his party used the corresponding job names from III- Knight(PLD), Devout(WHM), Magus(BLM), Ranger(BRD), and Warrior. They used Magic Swordsman instead of Knight in the JP version for whatever it's worth.

There's some precedent set here, based on the Warriors of Darkness we encounter in 3.4. Going off their names in the solo duty...

• Arbert is a Warrior, same as in our world.
• Blanhaerz is a 'Knight' rather than a Paladin.
• J'rhoomale is a 'Ranger' rather than a Bard.
• Naillebert is a 'Magus' rather than a Black Mage.
• Lamimi is a 'Devout' rather than a White Mage.

It seems to me like they all use FF3 jobs. Most of the FFT/FFTA job names probably exist on the Source, too, in the Dalmasca region, given they appear on a lot of the raid gear from Rabanastre/Ridorana/Orbonne.

They probably use the Japanese word for "Knight" for the current Paladin job. I know that's the case for what they call Paladin in French ("Chevalier"), so I'd expect it to go the same way for most languages.

I think it'd be cool to see if they could bypass that language barrier issue.

Paladin is Paladin in french too. Chevalier and Paladin are 2 different things. Sry if I didn't understand something ^^

Also, I think dancer comes from the First, so the name for Eorzean should changeb but stay dancer for the First.

Yes, Paladin is "Paladin". Chevalier would be directly translated to "Knight" actually

We don't know where the DNC trainer is, but considering they put the SAM, RDM, and now Gunbreaker trainers in ARR areas, I'll be surprised if they don't do the same for DNC.

There's no dragons on the first. It would probably be Ulhan.
