Considering I see entire parties filled with nothing but RDMs since they're so popular I can imagine that'll be yet another issue.

I would likely never group with strangers again, ever, but also keep in mind it's very likely roulettes will still require going on with players, not Trusts. I predict we will be able to run a dungeon with Trusts for the clear, or re-runs, but the roulette tome bonuses are there to encourage players helping other players, not only so they can buy new gear.
If I can, though, I rather run a dungeon with trusts 3 times alone, before I run with players that obviously don't want to be there, or are playing healer/tank only so they can get fast queues.
Maybe the first few entries in the series, but most modern entries have almost always stuck to 3 active characters

Parties definitely should have been 5/10 rather than 4/8. The game would have to have been designed that way from the start though. It's waaaaaay too late to change it now.
DPS queues for me are usually 10 minutes tops. If I’m feeling impatient, I’ll just switch to Tank/Healer.
There are plenty of things to keep busy with while you wait. Hunts, leveling another job, leveling those crafters so you can repair in dungeons, beast tribe quests, side stories, gold saucer, and plenty more.
Just because the 24 mans have 5 dps per party and the queues are fairly quick, (they don’t seem any longer than dungeons to me) doesn’t mean that if you introduce a 3rd dps slot it will decrease the queues for light pary content.
I’d rather see dev time spent on other things, as someone stated further up the thread, if they are going to add a 5th slot, make it support, and give us dedicated support jobs.
Seems to me most of this is just WOW players wanting to make this game like that game. It’s been a long time since I played WOW, but their DPS queues always seemed longer than FFXIV.
