    FFXIV endgame gameplay loop

I've tried watching videos and reading posts to find out about the end game in ffxiv but I cant seem to find the information that I'm looking for. I was curious if anyone could explain to me what content I'll be doing in end game to progress my character? What kind of daily or weekly content will I be doing? What kind of extra content exists? To show what kind of an answer I'm looking for I'll explain the wow loop. I'm not looking for anything extremely detailed but a nice over view.

    In wow:

Hit max level > normal dungeons > heroic dungeons > lfr (queueable raid content) > mythic 0 dungeons > normal raids > mythic + dungeons > heroic raids > mythic raids > wait for new raid in about 3 or 4 months and repeat

You also have an artifact power grind throught all of that and pvp options.

Extras: pet battles, world quests (ap and rep), mount farming, achievements. These dont really affect your character progression but are things to do on the side.

This is by no means a perfect representation of wow but it's been awhile since I've played. So could someone please explain to me what ffxiv gameplay loop looks like once I reach end game?

In FFXIV you can pretty much do all content as soon as you hit Max level. Ex primals, raids, and 24 man raids are all alternative options for gearing, as is other content like Eureka/relic.

The only real gameplay loop is NM raiding > raiding > Ultimate (which is a harder raid instance that requires you to beat the original raid), other than that it is about doing different bits of content to obtain tomestones (currency) to get gear, as well as doing Extreme primals, and 24 man raids to get gear to beat the raid (which will in turn drops better gear - though doing other content isn't a requirement to get this)

Your goal is essentially to raise your item level so that you can enter higher level content. But it's not that hard.

    Usually things go like this:

    - dungeon gear as you level/unlock roulettes and new dungeons
    - clear normal mode primals and unlock ex primals (at max level at this point)
    - farm ex primals and/or normal raids for your gear
    - farm savage raids and/or tomestones for your gear

That sums up your pattern for each of the three tiers as they come out. There are a few things to add in there, every now and then new primals are introduced, new 24 man raids are introduced, new crafted gear is introduced. Each tier gets these as optional means of gearing up.

Since we're currently on the third tier of SB that means that a lot of ex primals and raids are obsolete for gearing. You want to go strait to the most recent content (which will often require you to at least clear the previous stuff)

It's worth noting that you can skip any of the points above and go straight to the end if you manage to get sufficient ilvl to do so. So for example you could hit 70, take 5mn to buy all the ilvl380 crafted gear off of the marketboard and go straight to savage raids.
