Character Customization Moving Forward into Shadowbringer

Take a break from complaining about gender locked races and tell the devs what options you want to see for our current races. I feel like with Hrothgar and Viera having new and unique customization, this might pave the way for the other races to receive additional options as well.

I play a Female Raen Au Ra and I would love to see:

Face and Horn options separated, please, please, PLEASE!

Face paint options that actually look good or aren't hidden by face scales

Scars, Tattoos, and piercings

Better Makeup options for ladies (and gents)

Longer hairstyles for boys and girls. I don't care about clipping. 12 years of all my robes going through my mounts in World of Warcraft and I could care less about clipping with some movements or having to change my hair to fit an outfit. If Zenos can have luscious locks why can't we?

Addition tails. Au Ra's have 4 versus Miqo'te's 6?

Shorter haircuts that are a bit on the masculine side would be nice, as would facial hairs. I’m all for androgynous stuff so people can have more options but it’s been a bit lazy on the devs part lately.

Agree with all of the above.

I really would like more body customisation options (scars, tattoos, more muscle sliders etc.) which I know is tricky to do but would be really neat to see.

Don't count too solidly on "new and unique customisation" actually meaning they have more options than other races. Most likely it's just *different* options. (For comparison, you could call Auri limbal rings a 'new' customisation option that hadn't been seen in other races, but data-wise it uses the same input that stores racial tattoos or unique earrings on other races.)

Also if I remember correctly, I think that quote originated from when they were talking about why they were making headgear invisible - in which case the meaning was probably more like "doing this means we could include designs that wouldn't work with helmets" than "doing this meant we could incorporate more choices per character".

I'd love to see the option to choose clan markings for Miqo'te (without having to pick a face I don't like for clan markings I do like), but I don't think they'll add it. Which makes me sad. :c I'd like the option to pick only the cheek stripes on my current face, because I don't like the forehead stripes.

I'd also love the option to have multiple face paints. Why can't my character have both her cheek tattoo and eye shadow. ;w;

I don't believe there will be new character options for other races at Shadowbringer's launch, and probably not in many patches afterward. However it is unlikely that we will see anymore new races given the development time and cost into creating them. That's doesn't mean that we can't or shouldn't see new character options for the existing races. They're adding Viera because people really wanted them (they were actually considering Viera in place of Au Ra's back in Heavensward), they're adding Hrothgar because people wanted a more animalistic race. So why wouldn't they consider adding new options to the existing races, if there is enough of a demand for them?

It's been said before plenty of times, but proper stubble like Nero or Derplander is a definite want.

1. More than two faces for female Elezen. Consolidate the makeup versions and turn that makeup into an option we can pick along with the scars.

2. Clean up the meshes for female Highlanders. Half of them are boxy or just plain unfinished looking.

3. GIVE FEMALE MIQO'TE MORE EAR WIGGLES D: (Not a character creation thing but it always bugged me that the guys get ear wiggles for most of their emotes and we only have a few options that allow for it.)

4. Saturate the hair colors for the original races. There's a pretty stark difference between red hair for the starter races and, say, Au'ra.

5. Customizable horns for Au'ra. It sucks that the best faces often have the WORST horns and vice versa.

6. Let us pick two make up options. Sometimes I want eye shadow /and/ a tattoo from the makeup list. Especially on races/faces that don't come with build in eyeshadow.

7. Actually commit to the clipping and give us longer hair please. After the Princess Outfit was released on the Mog Station which clipped for all races but Lalafell, I don't think they have a leg to stand on when it comes to clipping anymore.

8. Delete Female Miqo'te Voice 5 from the game.

I swear they responded to this over a year ago or more. Didnt they say something akin to the more options a character has the more stress it puts on the server memory load or something and thats why they hadnt included any new options beyond that spider face tattoo way-back when....?

I could be wrong... Just feel like I recall hearing that.

Assuming that isnt the case and they can make additions, I'd love to see a full color palette for hair, skin and highlights instead of just a series of colors they've chosen.
I'd also like the ability to add more than one face paint, etc.
Maybe a few new face types as well.
