Question from a recently returned player

Hey guys, I recently returned to the game after a long hiatus. What I have noticed since returning is that leveling up the classes is fast. Very fast. It seems as though I'll be able to max out every combat class in a month and a half or so. I'm not really sure if I like it like that, but what I definitely don't like is the lost sense of a "main" class or job. It seems like everything that has been patched in the last year has taken away from long-term job specific character progression.

I've read a lot of the updates posted on The Lodestone but I'm sure I missed a few. So, here's my question: Has there been any talk from SE about any kind of long-term class/job specific character progression?

The idea is to make it more like the FF tactics series, in which you level several classes which then combine to become jobs, level jobs to combine to become specialized jobs.

So yes, this type of level progression is a LONg term progression.

For example : Lets say you want to become a SAmurai (yet to be released ) And to be a Samurai will be like maybe Paladin level 50 and Dragoon Level 20

Well to get Paladin you have to Level two other calsses, and to get Dragoon you have to level two other classes....I can't remember which....

It's a more Dynamic system and alot of fun!

You can indeed level classes incredibly quickly, but not if you want to be good at them.
