We basically already have burst in thunder 4.

That's not exactly true, though I can see the confusion. Thunder IV is Thundaja, which is the 4th tier of the Thunder line of spells. Burst would be tier 5 if anything on par with Flare and Freeze. If anything Foul is like Burst. A little annoying now that it's not called that huh, lol.

In FFXIV, Red Mages are using replicas of White or Black magic.

That's not exactly accurate. RDMs aren't using replicas of the spells, they are using the "true" version of the spells; Ver, in a basic form meaning true, but also proper, genuine, in Latin, and also it being a pun on Vermillion. They are using the spells as they were originally intended, but in balance, so as to not cause another calamity. RDMs are the descendants of the WHMs and BLMs who fled to Gyr Abania, but learned from their mistakes.
