The name for my character was inspired by two fictional characters. One from a game series I honestly barely touched. (But played as her quite a bit in MvC3) And the other from a specific game I played the heck out of back before I got into this game. Darkstalkers and Star Ocean 4 teamed up to give my Miqo’te the name “Felicia Meracle”. I haven’t bothered to change my name even once, as I feel it has a nice ring to it. (Some other players I met even agree)

Later on, Fire Emblem Fates came out. So now I know a total of 3 fictional characters with the name “Felicia”... counting my avatar in there.

I hit random until I found a lore-friendly last name that I liked. Then I used Roxanne as my first name, because that's the name I use for female characters.

I switched names when I switched from NA to EU a few years ago.

Since the guild I came into were friends of mine I said I'll switch to catboy for a while, so I made a male miqo out of my char but I knew I wanted to go back to fem Highlander eventually, so I needed a gender neutral name.

I looked at my catboy and his golden hair and tail and tanned skin and was like "he looks like a Sun"
since I also love Journey to the West and Sun Wu Kong it fit.

Last names are always hard so I wanted something that matched Sun and then I remembered Marc Aurel, Aurum means gold in Latin.

"The golden Sun" fit quite well.

And that's why my character is named Sun Aurel and uses "The Southern Sun" as shield glamour

My character’s name Sille was something I saw when randomly searching for names a little while ago, and I thought it sounded pretty. It reminded me of one of my favorite leads in a movie I watched when I was small. Her name was Cecile.

V’ness is a completely made up surname by me and my SO, it has no meaning but we both like the -ess sound, and after little thought this last name was born lol
