    Story time

I team with my friend everyday sense arr. resetly she toke up white-mage. please note that she is under gear'd and very polite when asking for stuff. we get a tank in are party dark knight. and very start pulls large masses of monsters with grit off. and she having very hard time healing it is getting easily stressed

so she asks the dark knight. please could you slow down. the dark knight . continues and ignores her. at this point shes getting very stressed. me being dps at time. i said to this dark knight

"said look here ya brain-dead tin can if healer cant handle your pulling then listen to healer" but instead of listening like a any tank should. he has tantrum. claiming being toxic and unfair to him as a tank.

this type of behavior needs to stop! needs to stop right now. now not saying all tanks behave so selfishly. needs be something teaches these players how to behave like total "beep" when they tanking

at least when am tanking i ask my healer and dps our you comfortable with big pulls or if see that healer is under geared right from the start i take it easy test them. dont force them to accept my play-style thats unacceptable unfair. you know it

Stories like this are better suited for this thread: Tales of the Duty Finder.

This only applies to DRG and BLM.

Why would you expect anyone to respond to this in a nice manner? If someone said that to you, your first reaction would be to probably get defensive and not want to cooperate. Everyone sucked in this situation, sorry to say. Saying something rude and aggressive to someone will usually not result in them wanting to listen to you, regardless of who is "right" or "wrong".

So you make a bunch of threads about healers, you insult people not agreeing with you, and you post a random little story that could have gone into "Tales of the Duty Finder" and expect people to be understanding after reading that the first thing you say to that tank is an insult? naaahhh

Tank was in the right here. As a tank main, people expect me to be able to do mass pulls efficiently and effectively to finish the duty in a timely manner. When I do my roulettes as my WHM it's the same. People want fast and efficient (the term time is money comes to mind). The whm in your case should have adjusted or at least dealt with it to better themselves because 9.9/10 times, pulls will be like this in any roulette (except trials obv.).

Heals don't scale that well anyway, so yes. Do YOU, however, expect random people to be nice to other random people that call them names and insult them?

It's not the gear, it's the player that couldn't heal. Healers already have ridiculous numbers when it comes to heals. Unless the tank is a monkey that doesn't press its defensive CDs.

Next, I agree with the person you're replying to, along with many others on this thread, the healer and their friend were absolutely rude to the tank. Yes, the tank may have been wrong, but that went out the window the second they started insulting the tank. Two wrongs don't make a right and as such, OP and their friend were in the wrong. All those two had to do is ask the tank nicely to slow down instead of calling them "brain-dead tin can" and just say something along the lines of a "please slow down because healer can't handle it".

When I tank and someone is rude because they don't like how I tank I either vote kicked them or leave (idc about the penalty, I'll just wait it out, do something else, and requeue for another dungeon, more likely I'll find another before those even find a replacement tank or another dungeon). It's a natural reaction. However, if they ask nicely, I'll gauge (or ask them) where the trouble is and adjust accordingly. I'll split pulls or play more defensively. 9/10 times these people are asking for ridiculous things though.

Here's a story, I was tanking Kugane Castle when it was the highest dungeon at the time, and this healer and his couple friends kept asking me to use shield (scheld because they were german) oath even on bosses. Funny thing is, they all died to the one random mechanic of killing the suicide bomb adds and their AoE and I just killed the first boss completely solo. They STILL blamed me for not using shield oath. I must be very toxic for not listening. After I killed the boss on my own, I got kicked out of the party. Joke's on them in the end. So yeah.

Part of doing efficient mass pulls as a DRK, is being in Grit.
It's not like PLD where Sword oath trumps Shield oath in every conceivable situation.
Grit is integral to effective mass pulls, as Delirium'd Blood Price will sustain your DA-Abyssal Drain/Quietus spam.
