We actually dont know what the devs have. Not saying they do, but rather that we dont know what the devs have. So it's somewhat of a moot argument to say they dont have models. Far as I know, we dont know that.

FFX is separate from FF14, two completely different games, and lore.

That being said just because they had models in FFX doesn't mean they would look exactly the same. They could look totally different if they are ever made in FF14.

I'm just trying to say existing in other games, doesn't mean they exist in FF14.

I was always under the assumption that none of the other games mattered when it comes to a new FF game.

The lore, the characters, the races, are all new and unique to that FF game.

And it has been that way. Even if races from one FF game were put into another, they had their own lore for that new game to explain why that race is there and exist.

That being said, yes they could make up their own lore for male viera in the future.

In conclusion, its far too early to tell a single thing. Everyone is just literally throwing out speculations.

They didn't have the funds to develop them.... so you are saying that they lied about that.... and are just sitting on the assets they made with the money they said they didn't have, and are just sitting on the models to spite people?

Really.... Because when the devs say "We didn't make this". We cannot reasonably say "we don't know what the devs have"

I said changing male viera lore was much mor damaging to lore than any other race and sex combination. The one npc is not the only one that does not see them. No one except the females ever sees them. Fantasia is not lore breaking, since you could assume one was always that race and sex, as long as the combination is plausible. I'm not making excuses for SE's poor management of job lore, but an AST in an ARR dungeon really is not all that weird. I's not my job to defend SE's poor lore decisions.

Maybe I am not explaining myself right, because people are thinking I am saying things that I do not believe I have ever said.

At this point they should just not add any new race to 5.0 till later on in it. That give them time to make female and male races for both and create head gear they don't have yet for ether race. What Is point to bring out race if don't even have gear done for them yet.

It took them 3 years to make 2 genders. Thus, it will take them 3 more years to finish the other two genders from when they start (if they start).

People are arguing semantics about Gender Lock.

Gender Lock in the terms being commonly used refers to there only being ONE available gender of a race in an MMO. .

This is my first time hearing anyone in the mmo space use it like that.

Gender locked reffers to a class/ job that's locked behind 1 gender because though there are 2 genders the devs don't want to animate both doing the job.

Like how a class or job can be race locked .... You can only play it as this or that race. A class or job can be gender locked ... Only 1 gender can play it. It's how its been used in every other game I've played, from BD to Tera to B&S. Everyone refers to monogender races as "a all female/ male race"

People attached it to FF14 sometime in the past to excite people imo.

Who knows might have meshes,skeletons,color sets etc etc and unused assets are a very common not likely a full race of unused assets but its definitely a thing

Example there is an entire boss fight new model and all plus a boss rush mode unused in Bloodborne its very much a thing.

1- its important to refrain from acting like this is some black and white team vs team topic.

"Supports genderlock", what's this supposed to mean? You don't have to support something to be apathictic to it. I don't "support" monogenders, wouldn't ask for them to make them ... I simply don't care if they make them. It doesn't bother me.

2- where are these mils of people??? They're playing the game and not bothering with this tiny hug bubble forum. For some of the fan fest recently I've been online in game, had a whole nm group in eureka jump out as people died because the fan fest started. People talked about news in shouts and everyone was following the events. These people KNOW about these new races ... They just don't care.
