Well that's something entirely different, content made for 40+ people generally becomes a zerg fest anyway.

Besides that, if GW2 has this "awesome" content, why not play that and let XIV do its own thing?
Shove your attitude up your ass matey, can a person not mention another game round here without being attacked ?

besides that I probably will play it when it comes out.

This is not me trying to paint anyone out in a bad way, its just the views of someone who has played this genre for well over a decade and see what has changed both in the games themsleves and the community.
So the above question is a honest one in that regard.
You think that you are the only person with 10 years of experience playing MMO's, how cute !

I'm feeling more and more that MMO devs just can't have a cake and eat it, they cant please both hardcore mindset and casuals, and in the end its always the hardcore playerbase that gets to feel the bad end of that.
And hardcore players where the ones that shaped most of the playerbase in the early days and we are now forgotten and tossed aside for the small chance of a MMO becomming the next big WoW clone.
Don't feel butthurt, these companies exist to make money, I'm sure they don't care how you "paved the way" when all they want is your money.

There are more casuals out there = more money.

Like I said earlier I'm probably part of a dying breed of more oldschool players, but I'm surely not alone.
Nobody is pretending you are the only one, I would hardly consider myself a casual, I would probably fall somewhere in the grey area.

That being said even if I was a hardcore I would still beable to understand why game companies target the casual.

Really? It's an honest question: if there is a game coming out that already caters to what you want, why must a completely different game conform to that? Better yet, one of them isn't going to have a subscription fee; how would FFXIV compete with GW2 if they were functionally similar?

Haha yea because this game is conforming to me, I am magically forcing Yoshida to add content finder and make easy content.

I like playing FFXIV I have no issue with it, or its future, you do though, so right back at ya "why don't you go play something else, instead of making it conform to what you want it to be"

I've said it many times, there was only one ffxi, and tons of WoW clones.

You brought up how GW2 does it , my question back was then why must every game be the same, sorry if it wasn't clearly worded.
And about me stating my opinion, should I apologise for not wanting a feature that every single other MMO offers?

Realy aren't we mature enough without personal attacks? Geesh...
And im not sure where the realisation about game devs wanting to make money has to do with me being butthurt, if anything you come out as being butthurt about someone questioning the way MMOs are being changed.
And sorry I don't read anywhere I said I was the only one with long time experience, now youre being a bit childish here "mate"

And yeah its money in casuals, but the market for casuals is so much more crowded then the hardcore one, and XIV will never reach the hights of the casual MMO market no matter what at this point, a good business idea would instead to actualy try be successful as a niche game, since we all can easily see that the market for more "hardcore" MMORPGs is quite a open one.

I disagree with the turns MMOs are making and therefore voice my opinion on forums about it, you like the way it is and you are free to voice your opinion on that, shall we just leave it at that instead of making this into any dung tossing contest? :>
