Haha yea because this game is conforming to me, I am magically forcing Yoshida to add content finder and make easy content.

I like playing FFXIV I have no issue with it, or its future, you do though, so right back at ya "why don't you go play something else, instead of making it conform to what you want it to be"

Do not let the player who are auto-grouped be teleported right into the instance. This one simple change will undo all of the damage Content Finders have done to ever other game they have ever been implemented in.

When you allow players to be ported directly from any place in the world into an Instance with a random group of player, they never have to leave town again. This is undeniably a negative impact on the game. The worst part about it is, Every single game that has implemented a Content Finder has cause this exact issue. See WoW/LOTRO
I think this is fair, especially with Anima teleportation being available to everyone and the Content Finder more readily benefits people with less playtime and therefore would have the anima to spare.

A cross server Content Finder is a ease of use feature. There really is no good argument for not having it. You might even make some new friends along the way, and have more adventures then you normally would of. Really no reason why people would be so offended by casual players getting to do see content or getting gear. Its an optional ease of use feature that you are not being forced to use.

Takes the hassle of forming a party away? Yes

Organizes groups in a streamlined and efficient way? Yes

Does it let the more casual player that wants to do the games content be to log in queue up for a group, and start slaying digital dragons without the hassle of putting together a group ? Yes

If I just want to run quick raid instance in like my spare 1 hour I have to play the game? Yes

Are you being force to use Content Finder if they have one? No, if the content finder isn't for you then you don't have to use it.

Can you still do things the old fashioned way by getting your friends linkshell members together to run a raid or boss and run to the zone? Yes

If you want to make your own group by shouting in town can you still do that? Yes

I've said it many times, there was only one ffxi, and tons of WoW clones.

Organizes groups in a streamlined and efficient way? Streamline is never a good thing. It's like, everygame should just do what CoD does. Come out a game every year with one or two changes.

Does it let the more casual player that wants to do the games content be to log in queue up for a group, and start slaying digital dragons without the hassle of putting together a group ? You might not get a group... You could stay in a que for a long time if noone uses it. Like me.

If I just want to run quick raid instance in like my spare 1 hour I have to play the game? You are playing and MMORPG, if you can't invest time into it you shouldn't be playing.

Are you being force to use Content Finder if they have one? yes, I will see a shout group, and they will be like, K LETS USE THE CONTENT FINDER!~. Or I'll make a group, and my members will be like LETS USE THE CONTENT FINDER. It is going to be forcing me to use it. Because it will make people lazy just like anima.

Can you still do things the old fashioned way by getting your friends linkshell members together to run a raid or boss and run to the zone? Yes, but as I said, they might just wanna use the content finder to fill in the extra spots.

If you want to make your own group by shouting in town can you still do that? Yes, though will they stay? I don't think they will, or they will leave and just go do content finder.
It's soon going to be like "WAITING AROUND FOR PT IS TIME SYNC I CAN'T HAVE IT!!!! THIS IS WASTING MY TIME TO PUT A LITTLE EFFORT INTO A GAME!"
I'll get back at ya after work is done.

You brought up how GW2 does it , my question back was then why must every game be the same, sorry if it wasn't clearly worded.
And about me stating my opinion, should I apologise for not wanting a feature that every single other MMO offers?

Realy aren't we mature enough without personal attacks? Geesh...
And im not sure where the realisation about game devs wanting to make money has to do with me being butthurt, if anything you come out as being butthurt about someone questioning the way MMOs are being changed.
And sorry I don't read anywhere I said I was the only one with long time experience, now youre being a bit childish here "mate"

And yeah its money in casuals, but the market for casuals is so much more crowded then the hardcore one, and XIV will never reach the hights of the casual MMO market no matter what at this point, a good business idea would instead to actualy try be successful as a niche game, since we all can easily see that the market for more "hardcore" MMORPGs is quite a open one.

I disagree with the turns MMOs are making and therefore voice my opinion on forums about it, you like the way it is and you are free to voice your opinion on that, shall we just leave it at that instead of making this into any dung tossing contest? :>

Zumi, I mostly agree with everything you've said, but a few things stick out...

    Streamline? Yes.
Efficient? Maybe. Hopefully new content will require at least some strategy--not the kind of "ARC DOES THE MOST DAMAGE! LET'S STACK IT!" strategy we have now, but that there will be a reason to balance party setups. In the end, an automatic pool of people can never be customized enough to accommodate every variable that will make a party work or not. If getting into the dungeon is the goal, it is more efficient. If beating the instance is the goal, it will always be more efficient to build a party of people whose names you know.

If I just want to run quick raid instance in like my spare 1 hour I have to play the game? Yes
Yes, but I don't think a majority of people want the kind of instance where you can throw together a party and win in an hour. If it's that easy, it'll become boring fast, just like current content. That said, this type of content does need to be represented (for people that only have a spare hour) but we should not base all of our expectations around that.

Are you being force to use Content Finder if they have one? No, if the content finder isn't for you then you don't have to use it.

This is largely up to the dev team. That's why we're discussing it now, so they have our feedback before they make it. I will adapt whether they add it or not. However, depending on how it's designed, it could just fail miserably and be used once throughout the life of the game, or it could be the only thing that people ever do in the game. In my opinion, it needs to fall somewhere in-between.

No i do not favor, nor want a Cross server finder simply because i know how it will turn out.

i Want Yoshi to personally use the cross server finder and the current games that use it, and tell me what a fun experience he had being dropped from party when that rare loot dropped, or being ninja'd then that person dropping or AFK gotta walk my dog for 2 hours, and my personal favorite being kicked from what ever instance you were in because Player B still uses Grandpa's dial up.

This is funny. You are right, let XIV do its own thing, Yoshida has clearly said he has interest in doing cross server content finder. Let him do it.
