    Housing idea

    Hello,

I just wanted to bring up an idea that I felt would be a great addition to implement into Final Fantasy 14. As you are aware as developers and Game Masters, the player base is consistently asking for more housing, as there is quite the shortage. There are still FC's waiting to get their chance at a house so I can try to obtain access to more FC related things, like workshops, airships, submarines and most importantly a place to call "home for their FC". I, along with a few others in my FC and within the mentors in Novice Network would like to propose an idea to your liking that will benefit everyone as a whole.

Final Fantasy has always been a welcoming game to those looking to recreate their love for the franchise, and FF14 online is a great way to also spark up the passion for MMOs at the same time. Therefore, this has created a bonding between the community in which we band together, not only just as Free Companies, but through our friends we keep in contact with through linkshells and through party finder (now that cross world friending is a thing now, thank you very much for this.) As you all state to us as a player base, you are always looking for a way to make the game better and allow for growth.
Here is what we propose. We believe that it would be best if you considered creating a Housing district, or ward of some sort and allowing it so that only Free Companies will be able to to purchase these lands. Granted, I would personally like to see that the district be with Medium and Large plots if this is at all possible. However, the reason for this idea is the following:
-Allows for FC's that become neighbors to socialize together
-Promotes growth with Free Companies looking to expand
-Promotes healthy relationships among the player base
-Allows for FC's to work together
-Allows FC's to be able to display their creativity within their decorative design of their houses.
-Allows players the full access of their FC's by giving them a chance to build workshops, subs and airships as the game was intended.
-Furthers the use of Diadem for future installments, if possible.

There are many other benefits, but these are primarily some big changes that having an FC only housing district would bring about. Now I know people will think, "what about the people who want personal housing?" Well here is another way to combat that. We already have the ability to transfer housing from ward to ward, district to district. If it were made possible for FC's to be able to move from their current housing to the plots over in the FC only housing districts (hence why i also suggested medium/large plots), this would inevitably free up space within the four major wards currently.

    In continuance to the idea:

Therefore, FC's get the boost they need and the motivation to further recruit, no FC's remain "homeless and unable to access all further FC related perks", and allows for plots in the wards to become readily available for those wanting a personal house of their own. Thus, wraps up the idea of a good housing neighborhood created by Square Enix. Please let us know what you think. If there is a way to make this happen, it would surely allow great things in the future of Final Fantasy 14 and it's community. For all who read this, feel free to add your thoughts on it as well for the devs and for the fellow players who enjoy this game as much as we do.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
    Sincerely,
    Best'waifu Nia (Cactuar)

This is how the housing wards were in the beginning... They added personal housing later.

To do FC only housing, that is mediums and large only, they would have to make a specific zone I would think.
They COULD make it so a small house would be bigger on the inside, (aka: a house on the outside that could literally be the size of a... I dunno... police box? But full size or larger once you pass through the opening)
but that would also mean the outside furnishings would be limited. remember, small houses are limited to 1 garden patch and 20 items, including said garden patch.
Still... I think what could be offered, is that if you an FC using a house, no matter the size of the house, you can have the option of buying an 'indoor expansion', to accomidate things to enhance an FC's capabilities. Like the crafting tables and full set of merchants.

Truth be told, the whole housing situation needs to be drastically redone.
With the loss of Wildstar, and their, what was arguably, THE greatest housing content in ANY game, many other games, especially FF, need to step it up and try and match what these other companies strove to offer.

I think that a good compromise is how they handled the new wards in 4.2: Priority goes to FCs when purchasing new plots.

This allows people with current housing to potentially move to more ideal plots or larger plots to upgrade, but also gives FCs plenty of time to snag the empty plots there before it's free game on personal houses. If they ever add new wards again I hope there is a similar system.
