I mean, soon we will have world visits and trasnfers to other servers is free if you go to a preferred one. Its already that easy to get a house if you want it. DF and PF were already cross world so you won't be missing out on anything. The people complaining want their house and want the stay on the most populated servers in the game lol.

@thread starter, just take it easy, don't focus on housing at the moment, as it is an issue yet to be resolved, but if you still need to have a personal space buy an apartment, who knows if apartment buildings are all filled up as well, SE might intensely pursue instanced housing or the possibility of upgrading an apartment with a corresponding amount, let's say 500k for the basic studio type, 1M for a 1 bedroom, 1.5M for 2 bedroom etc. Its just a few months left till shadow bringers let's hope for the best.

so after playing this game on/off for YEARS i decided last week to subscribe again and try it out to see if the housing situation has improved at all......it hasn't. STILL the same over crowded situation.

i'm guessing that NO ONE who has anything to do with making decisions for this game ever reads these forums. but anyways. you all are KILLING this game.

I had a large at one time on Zalera, but that server was a ghost town for the longest time, so I went to Gilgamesh to see more faces and find more teams and such, but now I can't find a house and it seems my chances of getting even a small are slim. Why must we choose population or a house? I don't like that.
As for apartments, I don't want a single-room box in the wall where I can't even use any outdoor items. Literally one-third the space of a small. Same with FC rooms, but those are worse since it feels a lot less personal and what if you leave the FC?

Can't we just add more plots?

I'm not trying to whine, but I can understand the OP's frustration. It's an entire portion of the game that is being denied because of availability.

P.S. I really do wish they'd shorten that dang "invisible" timer. People have lives, you know. And what about making the plot glow green when there's still a "long" time left then orange and finally red when it's getting close for the timer to be up?

I'm in Ragnarok and there's nothing available, and every time a small pops up there's a legion of zombie botters spamming the placard. Absolutely no chance for whoever half honest that plays this game legit.

Well with the world visit feature coming, this should be less of problem. You'd be able to buy a house on a low populated world and players from populated ones could come and visit, not to mention there is the Party Finder for getting together to do other stuff.

I'm in no way saying the current housing system is perfect though just to clarify, but the distance in choice between population or house is slowly becoming smaller so just depends on what you want to compromise.

No one can blame the OP about wanting to leave the game for that reason. Housing is a big part of any MMO and that part of FFXIV is not accessible for a lot of players. It's not a little fix there and there which will change that fact.
And people should stop being blind fanboys like they always do by making fun of those who have real good points and critics towards the game. They are people who love(d) the game and who want it to be better.

The housing system is not just not perfect, it's just terrible and awful.
