    New Jobs for New Characters.

Would you be ok with a new character / player who has the appropriate expansion registered, being able to make a new character and pick one of the new jobs to play as from level 1, provided they do not get any job quests till their intended unlock level? What I mean by intended unlock level is of course SAM and RDM start at lvl 50. So the new player wouldn't get any job quests till lvl 50, and their job unlock quest for said job would be cleared already.

I don't really see why it's needed. 1-50 is a breeze these days, especially if you start on a preferred server and if you really are impatient there's jump potions you can use instead. I can however definitely see why it would be annoying to join for a specific job and have to wade through content in order to unlock it.

Don't forget GNB and DNC are tentatively going to start at lvl 60... so you may need to wade through all of HW to play those as well.

honestly, why a new player will try to play to a game almost at high level without even know anything?
let's them soak how work the game before drop them into this level range....

i'm not fond of the leveling potion, since people arrive at high level without know anything about the story, in a mmorpg where one of the best part is the world and story is kinda sad, especially since the shadowbringer plot depend of event that did happend in ARR (crystal tower) and heavensward (warrior of darkness arc)
plus if they only take the game for play one of this two jobs without even knowing if the combat system will please them.... is silly

I think some new players may see a job they loved in older Final Fantasy games or maybe even FFXI in the case of RDM and say, "hey I want to play that job cause I loved it." Then they get into the game and find out they have to play through ARR just to get to try out RDM. Now they may need to complete HW just to try out GNB or DNC. Which is why I think this would be a good option for new players. Or people that want to make alts. I'm just curious if the lack of job quests ill 50 or 60 levels latter would be a bad thing. I personally think SE should do this, since if you already have a 50 or 60+ character in the game you can just go unlock them at lvl 50 or 60.

Every skill on every job is already marked with a level at which it become available for the purpose of level synched content, so early level balancing work is already done. I don’t see why thus shouldn’t be a thing personally. Why not let new players start the game as whatever job they have the most interest in. I guess you’d miss out on some lore maybe and also players wouldn’t be in the habit of stopping to do job quests, but I mean any brand new person who uses a level and/or story skip is going to miss way more anyway. And I mean, as a brand new player there really is quite a bit of game that takes a not insignificant time to get through to get to level 50, and doubly so to get to 60 for the newly added jobs. Just let peopke plsy what they want imo.

the trouble is the gameplay of ff14 is special i have some friend that don't like it, because not fast enough, then before they begin to say, i want to play this job, while knowing nothing about the game.... it's silly exept make them purchase the game and extension when they are not even sure to like how this jobs play out and how the game work... that my point.

the example of the red mage is a perfect example, the red mage of FF14 is nothing like the red mage in the other game and even if the jobs can be fun is not for everyone... some people will prefer the melee, healer, tank or ranged dps gameplay more... but they can't know before try it.

even if i'm not fond of the leveling potion it exist... people can bypass ARR and such for reach the level needed... but the point is if they make this jobs begin at this level it's because it's not really balanced for below this level, some job are simply broken before the level you can get them.
a good example is the scholar that appear at level 30... you can simply let your pixie heal the group in dungeon until halatali (level 21)
and you can say this even from recent jobs, red mage and sam feel lacking before 50...

then honestly no... they will need to reach the level needed for unlock it... they have never said you need to have finish any story, they have said you need to have the level 60 (tentativly) for unlock it... especially since they have added the trainer in starting city.

Hmm. I thought you had to have the MSQ complete up to a certain point but according some info I just looked up you just need to be level 50 for Sam and Rdm. That is still a slog to level a job you may not like to get to try another job you may not like. Where as if you could try it out at level 1 and discover you don't like it you could try another job and see if you like that one by making a new character.

If someone really wants to play through the whole story as one of the SB/ShB jobs, they just have to play through the first quest to the point that they are no longer penned and can find a postmoogle, then boost any job to 60. This would then allow them to unlock RDM, SAM, DNC, and GNB.

Strictly speaking, no MSQ is required to unlock any of those jobs, aside from being able to leave the tutorial area. However, Ul'dah and Gridania people will have to wait until the Envoy quest (Lv15) to unlock DNC because they are cut off from Vyllbrand until then, while Lominsans have to wait until the Envoy quest to unlock SAM, RDM, GNB because they are stuck on Vyllbrand until then.

But after that, you can play the whole MSQ on the chosen job.

Hmm. I see. So... what you're saying is... the Devs will never do anything like this because of money. I get what ya saying tho. Never thought of it like that.
