I come back after a year break, im not doing end game stuff but i try to have a decent set of armour & weapon.

I look some guides for melds and all say DH->CRIT.

Now i dont know if is a ACT(parser) bug or what but always showme 0% Direct hits everytime i play DRK, is like DRK have 0 attacks with direct hit.

When i use any dps job, direct hit % go fro 10-50% depend on equip lvl etc.

So anyone know what happend here, is DH useless for DRK or is just a bug on how ACT get data?

DH works as intented and is still a mandatory stat for DRK to have.

Other thing I don't recommend you post for ACT help in the official forum in the future since the tool is against the t.o.s

Tanks and Healers have no gear that has dhit naturally, you'd need to meld it onto pieces in order to actually dhit.

You need to meld your gear with Direct Hit materia, but that should be your secondary priority.

Meld priority for Dark Knight is Crit > Direct Hit > Det. If you're sharing the gear with Warrior, you should instead do Crit > Det > Direct Hit.

To add, I believe you have to get over a certain threshold (201 DH?) to start actually landing DH attacks or that the chance under this is just so low that you may not see one even in a 30 min parse.

Base DH at lvl 70 is 364. At this value, you have exactly 0% DHit chance.
So OP won't be able to land a single DHit without DH melds.

DRK guides telling you to invest in DH over Crit are either outdated or misinformed.

It is Crit > DH past a certain crit threshold since crit increases exponentially unlike DH. The breakpoint is something like 1800+ crit; a value you can easily obtain. Meld Crit whereever you can and meld DH if the next crit meld would be overcapping the stat limit. If gear has max crit, go full DH on that piece.

the tool is against the ToS in every form, but is the grey area of you don't tell we dont care that make it still around, and you primary get banned by using it for harassment and similar things, so technically ppl are not allowed to make threats of how to get help about it since 3º party tools are still not suported.

The DH thing is kind of overrated to me personally. I made a post about this some months back asking if DH was really needed to play proficiently and most people preferred CRIT for DRK. This actually inspired me to try and do my own build and with DET>TEN>CRIT>SkS and I really enjoy it. I haven't done the math but I've seen some posts and have been told that a high DET stat isn't that much different than having a a lot of CRIT.

Decent survivorability, easy for the healer to heal and constant heavy hits due to the DET and TEN compared to having to wait for a CRIT attack to trigger...Is what it seems like at least. I'm not sure how correct this is but I like it and it's something different from the standard "go with this build or you suck" criteria.

My thing has always been that keep in mind, big numbers are always good but DRK is still a Tank not a DPS.
