Its time to fix Elezen

I think that the problem with this is some people do like their current animations. I wish that were was some way we could have two sets of animations to pick from for more variety or something. Like a Cool/Cute preset for ladies or something?

I've yet to have any problems with my Male Elezen, I love everything about him and his mannerisms, but my Femroe girls... I wished they'd taken a little more time with their animations and made them less goofy, more sultry.

Elezen isn't the only race with issues. Midlanders and male Au Ra run much worse than Elezens do.

I have personally never had issues with finding armor that looks good on Elezen, because most armor looks good on them IMO. And I also have no desire to ever change him to a different race.

So give all the races more love and stop singling out Elezen.

Square, you're adding two new races with new animations and beautiful updated models. Elezen animations have been an unfinished mess for going on half a decade...its time to fix them. You've already got your animation guys dressed in those silly black tights with the little mocap balls all over them, you should really just get this done and out of the way. The biggest reason that Elezen are the least played race in the game is because of how stiff and robotic their running animation is. Its time to fix it...and if you still aren't going to fix it, can you just please swap it out with one of the other races? I don't care if we get modified miqo'te or au ra animation that's slowed down to match our size, the current one is just really really bad and needs to go, its way past due.

If anyone can find the letter or interview where Square talked about fixing the Elezen animations, please post it. I'm in the process of digging it up, but it was quite a while ago and its been challenging to locate it.

Also it'd be great if people could like and show support for this thread...I think its time to just get this done already.

Been saying that forever, the tip toe running animation is terrible.

especially for the male, the female run almost makes sense a little but the males version is terrible i changed because of it, does not look like I am running its like im power walking but trying to be quiet going into a room not to wake someone up.

I think what people don't understand is that all races (of the same gender) run more or less the same way. However, they look different depending on how tall (or short) the character's legs are. The reason elezen running animations look so wierd is because they have really long legs, but the devs can't let them run any faster than the other races because that would give them an "unfair" advantage, which is why it seems like they are just walking really fast.

I agree, which is why I think they should run like Kefka....or at least give them some torso movement while running.

Honestly I think now that they've done the last races we might see updates to our races in the future but I also think it's too early to have this discussion. we're looking at years of waiting for any race old update if they have the resources.

I think in general we need more face options, not just Elezen. I don't mind the running animation for my female Elezen at all. she looks like a normal person running to me (but then again people also complain about the femroe running animation and i see no problems with it either).

I don't understand why people pick on Elezen so much. Every race has issues, the least played ones only have more glaring issues than everyone else.
as much as I agree that finding gear that looks good on them is challenging (and not counting that taste has a factor in it) I have to note that it's the tall races that suffer the most which makes me wonder if the problem is how they "stretch" said gear to fit them.
