Its time to fix Elezen

Look at Tharne above. He looks awesome. I find it hard to make elezen that look this good.

I've been concerned since Heavensward about the shrinking # of elezen in the populace. They're a lot cooler in theory than they are in practice. My elezen alt might get swapped into a hrothgar.

Something about female elezen is creepy. They looked better, for me, in 1.0. Not sure if they removed a lot from them, or it's just my brief memory of that game, but I find that female elezen have really bizarre eyes. Their heads remind me of a pencil eraser with faces drawn on. Skinny head, huge eyes, and the proportionally longer ears than the length of their faces makes their heads look even skinnier.

Maybe working from elvaan as a template was a bad idea for them. Elvaan were truly bizarre, misproportioned and ridiculous. Elezen have shorter necks and less gangly arms and that was a step in the right direction.

But I suspect we'll never see elezen fleshed out because their time-honored excuse of memory issues. Honestly SE, just start working on a new MMORPG, this one... I love it, but it hurts to see it hit the wall every time a necessary feature needs to be added.

I feel like altering something like that would be kind of tough so long after the release of a race, not because it can’t be done, but because there are going to be people who play the race who just love xy and z things about it, and if the devs just up and change something kind of significant they could alienate their existing elezen players. I do however think it would be great, and sorely needed for them to add a full four facial options instead of just having the current 2. That way elezen players wouldn’t be forced into a change they my not like, while also having more options if they wish, and more faces could draw in people new to elezen as well.

I despise Elezen animation. It’s awful. I always walk or run with my weapon out to change it. I really wish the animation would be based on attitude instead of race. I may play as an Elezen, but I don’t consider myself as posh and elegant, but more rough and tumble type that kicks ass and takes names! I mean think about it, do all Asians walk or run the same? Do Blacks? Whites? No each person moves based on their attitude or ability.

Ah well Elezen is the posh race and it reflects in emotes/physical movements.

There was already major upsets with PVP changes (which were not around 6 years) as well as job simplification. Changing something you see literally every time your character moves would probably even have staff members going ????

A major change in animation would have to have a toggle somewhere because it's comparable with switching races entirely.

It's not even the animations that bother me as I got used to them in the years I had a Dhamel. However if we're going to be cleaning them up a touch, I'd also like to recommend that they actually given Elezen women four proper face options to choose from as well. Quite literally speaking for those who aren't aware Elezen women have essentially two base faces to pick from - with two extras that basically just have makeup slapped on that . They try to hide it when you're picking between them by making one of the presets have a slightly different nose and lips from it's make-up wearing counterpart; but playing around with their face options shows they're the same template and have the same options.

I love Elezen to death but this is reason enough to fix it. They could at least give us four UNIQUE head bases to choose from.

I think that the problem with this is some people do like their current animations. I wish that were was some way we could have two sets of animations to pick from for more variety or something. Like a Cool/Cute preset for ladies or something?

I've yet to have any problems with my Male Elezen, I love everything about him and his mannerisms, but my Femroe girls... I wished they'd taken a little more time with their animations and made them less goofy, more sultry.

I wish they would release an elf ears option for Hyur so people could leave Elezen alone ready.

As a male elzen player, I'd like them to look less "hunched over" when wearing certain gears. Just look at an elezen wearing any sorta cowl, or wearing a grand company officers coat and you''ll see what I mean, also the heads are a bit small.

I'm not sure what you mean either - they stand quite straight. I don't remember ever thinking my Elezen character looked hunched-over.

Re. the heads being a bit small, it's definitely a thing with Elezen, but I also think it's more noticable with the face you picked than the other faces. (Maybe because it's younger-looking so you expect the body to be a bit smaller or differently-proportioned to the others.)
