Shadowbringers Benchmark?

Good evening fellow eorzeans,

title just makes me wonder if there IS actually a benchmark coming. We know nothing about technical stuff yet, besides them saying there are no improvements (if i remember correctly).

What do you think. Will there be a benchmark?

maybe, there are still 1 or 2 live letters coming before the expansion, if there is a benchmark they might mention it then in the live letters.

Yoshida mentioned a benchmark for Shadowbringers at the JP Fanfest Live Letter; it should have character creation options for Viera and Hrothgar. I don't think they mentioned a specific date, but it's coming.

I believe it was said the benchmark is released in May, around the live letter that has the combat overview/changes for 5.0. Trying to find a quote for that, will edit it in if I find it (or maybe someone else finds it first).

– Benchmark and Patch 4.58 – Both due in May, the Benchmark will allow you to download a client to test out the character creator for Shadowbringers, so you can see if you would change to Viera or Hrothgar. Patch 4.58 will bring various patches and fixes to gameplay.

This link goes through the FanFest from Japan, so I assume it was said in there. I don't really want to buffer through the whole thing to find it, but unless my memory is lying to me then this link feels exactly right (because this is what I remembered "released in may").

Edit: From the Reddit live thread (day 2):

May looks empty, but there are other things coming out then like the benchmark (with character creation of the new races)

There will be a very long live letter in May to go through all of the battle system changes

Naw, will probably be similar to Stormblood. We'll get benchmark early to mid may.

The LL detailing mechanics changes and jobs will come in "mid may", so likely the week of the 13th. Benchmark should come either just before that or the same time.

Since Live Letters are usually on Fridays, id suspect 10th/17th for the Combat Update LL, which means we should have the benchmark by the 24th, if not before the LL. Either way we got a good 30-45 days to get our Viera and Hrothgar's planned out for June 28th.
