just got an aquarium how do i add water, fish, trimmings?

I have a room in my FC House and have an aquarium which I can place, but I am unable to put the trimmings in it, add fish, etc. how do I do this? I get an error saying this item cannot be placed in estate hall, but I am in my personal room. when I got the aquarium and reading posts my Tier 2 aquarium says I can use it in my room. Any help would be great !! Thanks.

You don't "place" the fish and trimmings the same way you would for the aquarium itself. Much like the frames and paintings, you need to place the aquarium first, then target and interact with the aquarium to bring up it's menu. From there you can select whether you want to use fresh water or salt water, as well as choose which fish and trimmings you want to put into the tank. Keep in mind, each kind of fish you can put in the tank can only be put in depending on the type of water you're using. In other words, you can't put a fish that lives in fresh water in if the tank is filled with salt water, and vice versa. Make sure whatever fish you put in are compatible, and that, if you're adding multiple fish, they are all of the same water type. It's also important to note that the size and number of fish you can add are determined by your tank, so plan accordingly. You can look up the details online or simply click on the tank to bring up the menu to check on what you can do with it. Also, I believe once you add a fish in a tank you won't be able to retrieve it again, so if you switch for new fish you'll lose what's already in the tank.

I personally want to get the trimmings they added in from Tsukuyomi for mine. It would go so well with my general aesthetic. Alas, farming that fight will probably be a pain, but my meager gil reserves can't take splurging for it on the market board lol. Plus I need to farm it anyway for the doggo, so there's not much avoiding it.
