I'm guessing because Cid's goggles have a lens for it, it's somehow functional, even though it looks almost like a hard marble or something. It doesn't look like a normal eye. I'm curious how it works... /stares



I always assumed it was like the parietal eye (sometimes called a third eye) found on most reptiles and amphibians. It’s photoreceptive but they don’t actually see in the strictest sense. It seems to do something because characters like Gaius and Zenos have an obvious lens on their helmets where the eye would be.
